Elmer's Restaurant (Tacoma, WA)

I've only been here once but I got the French toast and I do not at all regret my decision. It was probably the best French toast I've ever had aside from my mom's homemade stuff that I grew up on. The workers were all very friendly and personal and genuine. The food came relatively fast and the prices are definitely worth the result. I will be coming back many times in the future.

Ok, so I'm a little on the fence about this place. First time coming in. Was seated immediately, drinks ordered and brought out quickly, waitress was really nice, everything was great. When the food came out, the tides turned a little bit. My plate was perfect. Hash cakes, bacon, over easy eggs and toast. My son received a couple slices of ham and scrambled eggs when he ordered an omelet, and my wife's toast was very stale. So much so it seamed like eating a giant cracker. Eggs were also very raw when ordered "not runny at all". When the new eggs came out, still made over easy. Sent back again and manager comped out both of the meals for us. I will probably end up coming back again, the food is delicious, but I'm skeptical. We will see.

Elmer's is one of my favorite breakfast diners. Warm,welcoming and attentive. With an current updated seasonal menu. I don't work there for them to receive this praise. They've been this consistent over years of my dinning experiences there. I'll say there mimosas may need a little more work at there current price point. I ordered this time the Bacon Avocado omelet ???? as the young would say fye. See for yourself.

Either my taste buds have changed or the breakfasts just seem greasier and toast was practically burnt which I couldn't eat. It was sad. I really liked this place too. Maybe next time, I will try the German pancake. Did the chef change? Maybe I went to Elmer's on an 'off' day? This could happen I guess.????

Get the big thing in. The picture with the lemons. It's good even if you take it home despite what they say! I stick to traditional breakfast things it's always good and fresh every time. The potato pancakes are good too!!
