The Table

Food was top notch, the service was not. Made reservations by cell 2 days before, no reserved seating when we arrived. Table of 4 who were seated next to us were checked on 3-4 times before we were, consistently. They were asked if they were out for anything special, but we were not... We told our waiter we were there for our first time and he proceeded to give us a generic run down, made no real suggestions other than the only 2 things on the menu they do not change and didn't really seem enthusiastic to be there. Wine menu was stained and pages were torn and dirty. All the food was perfect. The beer was cold. Don't know if I would return or recommend.

The staff are charming, the food is gloriously delicious, and I have to say I am biased because this place represents so much of Tacoma. It's not a hidden gem, locals will know this is the place! I love their bread, salads (esp beet!!), and the cook a mean steak. The menu will not disappoint, and I love the atmosphere here too.

I wish I could give more stars!!!! This tiny little place just set the bar for future dining in the Tacoma area. I stumbled across this place while looking for something out of the ordinary and WOW! There is a personal connection the wait staff makes and we were very well taken care of.....so much so we stayed for 3 1/2 hours! We made sure to sample lots of different items and we were not disappointed. Every plate just got better and better. The braised elk was melt in your mouth delicious and the applewood smoked duck- beyond delicious. The menu is seasonal and elegant, with options to please almost any palate. Not a foodie? They even have a burger for ya. If there is one thing to improve upon, it would be to try to figure out how keep the noise level down. The acoustics just make for a noisy dinner....but still an incredibly delicious one!

**Update- went back for another delicious visit and was impressed yet again with the food and service. The poached pear for dessert was absolutely incredible! The Table even seems to have more reasonable noise levels than my last visit. This lovely establishment continues to win me over with every delicious bite!

Finally got to eat here last night for my husband's birthday and we're not disappointed! Reservations were easy to make, the staff was incredibly friendly yet professional, the wine list very extensive and of a wide range of prices, the food fantastic! Each dish we tried was so well crafted with seasonal veggies, perfectly cooked cuts of meat, and well-balanced flavors. Looking forward to coming back for our next special occasion to see what is on the menu in a different season!

Great atmosphere and service, the food for the most part good, but fell short of the hype.
We had duck breast and pork chop for the main meal. Both were tasty and well seasoned but far too tough. This was especially true of the pork chop. The dessert was OK, but nothing special. The apple Frangipane tart was no better than what’s offered at Metropolitan Market, and was somewhat lacking in almond flavor.
