I rated this 3 stars because as it was just ok. The place feels fun but the food I ordered was lacking for the most part. Spicy Margarita Pizza was not spice but in fact very plain tasting. The clam chowder was watery with huge chunka of potatoes, not very flavorful as well. The beer, just ok. Overall disappointing but maybe was an off day.
Been a happy customer since 2004. Wonderful beer, really good food, and great service. Pluses: NW IPA is well balanced; menu is varied and solidly good (wood fired pizza and breads are wonderful); the staff are efficient and very pleasant; prices are reasonable; and portions are good. Minus: the place seems to have been discovered and you either have to target off hours or wait. I guess that is bound to happen when you combine good food & drink, great service, and reasonable prices.
Great La Connor spot: ate everything so fast, couldn't get a beauty shot! Vanilla- infused oatmeal stout (made with chocolate espresso) was completely balanced and rich. Clam chowder was perfect with focaccia for dipping. Had a four cheese pizza, and the garlic and feta were perfect, pepperoni on half for the boy.
Happening place at dinner time. Still able to find a table. Food was decent. My wife's salmon was much better than my fish tacos. (They were just ok, need more sauce). Beer was pretty good. Tried a couple. They had the same distinctive undertone that I *think* is due to the yeast they used. Not bad at all, but not like most store bought beer. Again, not a bad thing.
Came here for late lunch and was pretty busy, and they was able to get us a seat. Service was very friendly and welcoming and overall really good. Lots to choose from on the menu and some interesting looking dishes. Our food was really nice, the salmon salad tasted refreshing and fresh. Pulled pork burger was also up to par, and also enjoyed the couple pints of Pilsner. Not many places to eat in La Conner so should definitely try here.
