Finally went for the Thursday Prime Rib. The meal portions were impressive large potato, lots of a delicious veggie combo, garlic roll, and the Prime. Honestly, this roast was a little more tough than most I have had, but that's not on Longhorn, it is just luck I think Service was fabulous. And the honey butter? Get a spoon!!!
Wife and I went in for a date night. Overall we liked it, but it does need some updates. The walls and decor are good, however, the chairs and table need serious updating. They're what you remeber from 90s diners and bingo halls. They definitely need some wood tables and chairs to complete their asthetic. Servers were very nice and attentive, so I'm glad to see good customer service. The food was okay.
Ribs had good flavor and were very tender, so the taste was there.. The issue was that they were not hot, and the cornbread was not even what I would call warm. It seemed like box made cornbread made in a muffin tin, not your traditional homemade cornbread that's airy and fluffy and usually in squares. Fries were delicious and hot so props there.
On the barbecue front, the "Original" I'm sorry to say, tasted like the BBQ sauce you get from the McDonald's packs, the "Bold" was much better and had a more traditional smokey flavor. It was by far the best so that's my recommendation. Zesty was okay, not enough zest and not enough BBQ, just kind of good enough to eat. I would highly recommend rethinking that original, this place has Barbecue in the name, so you gotta walk the walk.
As a whole, I would go again if asked, but I wouldn't choose to go again on my decision. Lots of potential here, but right now, it's just not there.
The place is clean, and the barbecue is very ta, probably best food in Spokane
It's been years since we've gone to the Longhorn BBQ. We ate there before and it was meh...(mediocre)
Today I saw the prime rib sign and I thought to myself we haven't gone to Longhorn in a long time!
So we had the prime rib, and apparently it's the first day that they were doing the prime rib.....who knew! I had mixed vegetables with my prime rib and they were the freshest crispiest yummiest perfectly seasoned fresh vegetables. I got the 16-ounce prime rib and it was massive with just the right amount of red in the middle, and seasoned to perfection. I think we will probably be able to eat that steak for three more days.
This was a fabulous experience. Our waiter was attentive, even though I could see he had a large table of 9 or more people. He checked on us just enough and seemed genuinely interested. He was great!
Yep, I give Longhorn five ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ all around! I'm pretty sure we're going back.
The rich BBQ smell even before you enter! Great menu choices, but I chose the all you can eat BBQ Buffet (hot bar, soup & salad) at decent price . I was passing thru for the weekend in Spokane and looked for steak/BBQ within a mile of hotel. Happened to be closest...and was pleasantly surprised first impressions. Although I was seated about 5 minutes before the end of the lunch buffet hours, food was still hot & plentiful on the hot bar. I only ate ribs & brisket. Both were delicious and tender. The salad bar was a little tired & wilted looking that late in the day (2 pm), but there was enough to get a decent salad. I had the huckleberry margarita (a first for me) which was delicious (too bad I was driving, they all looked pretty good as they were served, especially the bloody mary). Soup of the day was clam chowder. A little thin, but was really very flavorful. Friendly and attentive servers. My server was Maverick....very attentive & his drink recommendations for both strawberry lemonade and the margarita, hit the spot. Ended with the a la carte- dessert - bread pudding. Absolutely one of the best I have had from a restaurant in a long time. If I werent flying back home, I would have ordered a couple more to go.
If I lived here, I could see myself going back again...and bringing friends.
