Well, this is an amazing hidden gem in Spokane. A friend and I wanted Thai Food, so we googled the restaurant and found this restaurant. We did not realize that it was by reservation only, but the owner had some availability.
I ordered the Red Curry dish that was AMAZING! They add slices of fresh pumpkin to it. When I say fresh, I mean that the cook (his wife) went into the garden and got a pumpkin! How cool was this!?
They are only open for a short window, but all money is donated to help elephants. What is better than a restaurant with great food, family-owned, and they donate the proceeds?
Delicious! Cozy place. Not a lot of tables so be sure to make a reservation! The Fresh Roll is amazing! The flavors are so yummy!
This quaint garden surrounded house is repurposed for tasty delights of Thai cooking. The first aroma wafts a message of nirvana inside. Gerry is a soft spoken Air Force retiree and Thai wife does the cooking!
This place is totally obscure. I got the Dutch baby with lemon custard and blueberries. It was absolutely fantastic. Explosive flavor. I think I made a little noise when I took my first bite. WOW! I can't say enough about how good it was. The paintings on the walls were apparently painted by elephants in Thailand. Incredible to say the least. I really like this place and can't wait to go back.
We were looking for someplace different to go for lunch and came across The Mangrove Cafe. It's kind of a hidden gem as I've driven by there countless times and wasn't aware of it.
It's an old house transformed into a restaurant, so it's not very large with few tables, but that makes it quaint and quiet. The server was super friendly and efficient.
The food was spectacular. I ordered the Roasted Red Pork over rice and it was awesome. My wife ordered the Chicken Pad See-Ew and she raved about the flavors that blended harmoniously.
Both dishes were BEAUTIFULLY presented. Can't wait to go back for the expanded dinner menu.
