Yelm Casa Mia

Had only been to the Casa Mia in Lakewood once, about 10 years ago, but was looking for somewhere to bring my nieces. We had dinner and because they ate all of their dinner and a salad, we got dessert. My niece could not stop talking about the chocolate mousse cake. We have been back several times. Perhaps, though, the best thing about this restaurant is a waitress named Anita. The past two times we have been in,she was not our server, but made sure she stopped by to say hello, like an old friend. It makes our visit so enjoyable.

We have been eating here since they opened many years ago. They have always had excellent food and service.

I love Casa Mia. There are several locations but I enjoy the Yelm one the most. It is small and has a wonderful atmosphere that is perfect for a friendly get together, family dinner, or a romantic date. Wait staff are always friendly, and they are often quick to get drinks or bring out food. However, the food can be hit and miss. I usually order a pizza which is incredibly delicious. This time around, I ordered the tortellini. It was a mess. The pasta did not taste like it was cooked all the way, the cheese that was added on top was not fresh (or melted but that is just my preference) and the sauce was bland. My husband got the calzone which he said tasted good. It is a good restaurant but definitely be picky on the food.

Although most reviews are positive I personally was not a huge fan of the food. Not bad but not good. Nothing wow’d me like I thought it would. I ordered 3 different meals and everything tasted like it was missing something. There just wasn’t enough flavor. Definitely lacking salt. Don’t let what I say discourage anyone from eating here. Not a bad place just not my cup of tea.

Absolutely love this place. The food is always delicious. Generous portions at a good price. Staff are always nice & friendly. Atmosphere is very nice.
