Asked the waitress, are the 'famous wings' really famous? She said yes, but I had my doubts. The wings and the rest of the food was worth every penny.
This place is so good, I have to write a review. And I hate writing. Checked in while we went to eat. Didn’t have high expectations, which made our surprise even better. Food is top notch. Hot wings were made perfectly. Great sauce and fried just right. Fried chicken and meatloaf are also great. Even the sides were terrific. The rooms are everything you’d expect from an old motel. But it’s old and quaint and works, not old and outdated. And while it’s old, the cleanliness is superb. Haven’t completed my stay so there still may be issues yet to come. A shame I don’t see myself staying out this way that often, or I’d stay here every time.
Really good liver and onions! The liver had been soaked to tenderize it and was mild and sweet, and you could cut it with a fork. I got coleslaw (vinegar based) and spinach as my sides, both went well with the liver. My friend got a Reuben sandwich with some excellently fried french fries, at an exceedingly reasonable price. They had a lot of tasty looking dessert options, and a broad menu including some nice salads I considered before I noticed the liver and onions. There are also some soups and a variety of daily specials on offer. Definitely worth a stop!
They had a lamp stew that was the best I ever tasted. The spaghetti and meatballs was better than a number of Italian Restaurant I have dined in. The chocolate cream pie melted in my mouth. SERVICE WAS 5 STARS.
I wish this place was closer to home
Great place with fantastic food. Wasn't expecting much from the outside. Figured it was just another average American diner. Had cranberry chicken and also the scallops. Scallops were perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful with a lemon pepper salt crust on top. The desserts looked fantastic as well but did not grab one. Definitely stop by if you're in the area.
