I offer a very positive review of Abolitionist Ale Works. It is a handsome space, inside and outside. My preference depends on the company I am with, I love them both. Good beer, interesting and flavorful food. I have not been here for the entertainment yet, but will.

We've been a few times and really enjoyed it. The pizzas are really good - lots of flavor. The beer is unique but I haven't found the one that really suits my tastes. What I've had have been very hoppy or really malty or really sour. I'm looking for something a little smoother. The wait staff has always been friendly and helpful. We'll be back. Again.

Really cool brewery with a nice bar area and patio. Pizzas and small plates. Good service and a nice variety of beer styles, including a cask conditioned option.

Beer is solid and outdoor patio is a nice touch but on a Saturday night the servers acted like they didn’t want to wait on anyone. We had a group of 11 there by 730pm and it was like pulling teeth to speak to someone. Grab a T-shirt and a pint then head out somewhere else. I’m sure that’s fine with the owners.

A very interesting older building with a nice atmosphere. However, the rest of the experience was mediocre at best. If you are going for the selections of beer, then you are at the right place. Definitely a 5/5 for the beer quality and unique selections. Probably the best craft beer I’ve had in the entire state.

The pizzas all had delightful names but were not memorable. It was a disappointment after reading the reviews on them. Serving pizza on naan bread can be done so much better. But ultimately what ruined our experience was that we were seated around people smoking up a storm. I don’t want to eat while covered under a cloud of smoke and I was honestly surprised to see smokers there as I haven’t been to a restaurant in years that still allowed smoking.

If I were in the area again looking for a night out or a good beer selection I would definitely go back. As a bar, the place is great! But we were looking for a restaurant, not a bar. As a restaurant, it was a letdown.
