“This place is absolutely a must if you’re in Harpers Ferry! It is a city worthy restaurant in a cute little town. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality of the food and service. The deviled egg appetizer is incredible, we also had their steak and gourmet Mac n cheese trio, and then indulged in their bread pudding. We left full and very happy! The staff and owners also make you feel very welcome, they’re super friendly and go out of their way to connect with you. Even the chef (part owner) came out at the end of our meal to say hello. I can’t say enough about this place, definitely recommend making a reservation as it is limited in space. Do yourself a favor and go check this place out!”

“Waffle House is a no-frills, straight up place and their grits are second to none. Their menu gives you lots of choices at reasonable prices. The food is mostly down-home good and plain comfort food. It's nice for an occasional meal that isn't hyped up, hopped up or fake. Kids or retro enthusiasts will especially appreciate the seating. We've been seeing Waffle House restaurants pop up all over the place and they are all identical. Every time we drive by one, it is either empty or near empty. We dont know they stay alive but they do and we're so happy they do. Try it, you'll like it!”

“Came here for dinner after everything else was closed, had obnoxious drunks at the bar, or was BYOB. So thankful we did! It was lovely. We had the hummus platter and shrimp cocktail for apps. Both highly recommended. My husband had the fish and chips. It was huge, but really good. I had the special with scallops and pasta and deliciousness. So light and flavorful on a hot summer evening. “Since I am not in the area most days due to work, I have missed the opportunity to eat locally. But due to a day off, my wife and I had lunch at the Anvil Restaurant. When we looked at the menu it had several things that were appealing. But when the waitress told us about the smoked pork barbecue (the smoker was out front), we tried it. Really good. Intimate and local, not a chain restaurant. I recommend that you try it out. If you want DC sophisticated restaurant, then this is not your place. But since that is not what I want, I think it is great.”

“Contrary to the map location, this is under new ownership and is now Junction Barbecue. The owner cleared out a load of debris in the old red train, expanded the kitchen, and added a deck. He also is active with the chamber of commerce and seeks to improve what is offered in the community. The barbecue was tender and delicious. I liked the chicken BBQ on a baked potato which avoids gluten. Come on in and seat yourself and relax!”
