I've never encountered any major problems when visiting either. However, turning left out of the parking lot may require some waiting due to the high volume of student traffic, but usually a kind neighbor will eventually let you through.”

“Great food. Really good beer and wine selection. The price's aren't really that bad for nicer dinning. Dress code isn't super formal. I wore dress slacks button up shirt with a sports coat. I saw people wearing khakis with polo shirts. I'd say business casual at a minimum. I gave it 4 stars because they forgot our appetizer and because the food came so fast didn't even notice. So a positive and negative. Regardless you won't be disappointed”

“Nice little gem! The crab puff is not to be missed- a giant, 100% crab meatball that is breaded and lightly fried, served with a tasty curry sauce. Yum! Got the drunken noodles - very good and just mildly spicy. Also got the yaki-udon with pork. Great noodles but the pork needed more salt. Loved the toasted rice tea in the iron pot. Adorable!”

Service was great and parking was easy to find. Food was okay, the French onion soup was a too salty and the cheese was in large clumps but taste was pretty good. I had the steak with peppercorn sauce and the frites which was delicious. Overall a good experience.”

The bubble tea was delicious too. For two, with bubble tea (they don't sell any other drinks), it was $40... A little expensive for what it is, but it was still nice. “The Devonshire Arms Cafe is a great little restaurant which is very affordable in the college town of Shepherdstown West Virginia. If you stay at the Bavarian inn, as we usually do, it appears there are only a few places that the college crowd could actually afford. The Devonshire Arms Cafe is one of them. I have only been there once, but while there I tried their fish and chips. It was very good and I liked the atmosphere of the small town restaurant. The prices were very reasonable. There are actually quite a few places like this if you are willing to walk around the main streets of Shepherdstown. I would love to go back. I've only seen this restaurant during the daytime when there was not a large crowd. But I would say that it was very comfortable and casual, as well as affordable. More than anything, the food was good. Not sure if this is typically just accustomed to college students, but make yourself at home and you will fit right in.”

“The wife and I went there for breakfast. The breakfast menu is small, however that is not a bad thing. It means that what is on there, is done well. Both of our dishes were very good. I was asked if I wanted hot sauce with my meal. I said yes. The waitress came back with more varieties of hot sauce than I anticipated. She explained the heat level of them and then left them all for me to experiment with. Our coffee cups were never less than 1/4 full. Fantastic service.”

“Since I am not in the area most days due to work, I have missed the opportunity to eat locally. But due to a day off, my wife and I had lunch at the Anvil Restaurant. When we looked at the menu it had several things that were appealing. But when the waitress told us about the smoked pork barbecue (the smoker was out front), we tried it. Really good. Intimate and local, not a chain restaurant. I recommend that you try it out. If you want DC sophisticated restaurant, then this is not your place. But since that is not what I want, I think it is great.”

“Contrary to the map location, this is under new ownership and is now Junction Barbecue. The owner cleared out a load of debris in the old red train, expanded the kitchen, and added a deck. He also is active with the chamber of commerce and seeks to improve what is offered in the community. The barbecue was tender and delicious. I liked the chicken BBQ on a baked potato which avoids gluten. Come on in and seat yourself and relax!”
