Their Scotch Ale is absolutely amazing! Before I went home from my vacation, I made sure to buy a few four packs to take with me. A little pricey, but worth it. The hoodie and long sleeved shirt I purchased there are rugged and very warm. I will definitely be stopping there again if I'm in that area!
The food was good and we were able to make reservations which was a plus. However, there was no waiter/waitress to take your order. You had to go to the bar to order your drinks and food. The poor bar tender was the waiter, bar tender and bus boy. We sat upstairs and they could really use more lighting in the dining area.
Old Sprucw Brewery is always great, some of the best food on the mountain. It is a Brewery and offer some excellent house brewed offerings, if beer isn't your thing they also have a great whiskey selection. Also, if you are in Snowshoe village check out Old Spruce Tavern for friendly faces, excellent food and a great offering of draft and canned /bottled beer.
I got the brisket rice bowl and it was very good. My husband got the brisket tacos and he said those were good. A friend got the seared ahi rice bowl and said that was amazing. We also got a German pretzel & nachos for the table and everyone loved those. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is you have to go get your own drinks & go to the bar to place your food order, at least upstairs we did. We were in ski boots so not the easiest to walk in, would be nicer if we didn't have to walk back & forth. But I do recommend this place and would go again!
