Garmisch USA Resort

We have stayed at the Bug two years in a row. The worst part of this place is the septic smell in the lower level where I slept. We alerted them to the smell last year and it was a problem again this year.

Upper level kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom are nice. Also appreciate the fireplace and comfortable couches.

The property is amazing. Beautiful lake views and buildings. Service is excellent at the restaurant, but the food is fair and overpriced. We will be back if the smell is fixed!

This place is so beautiful! The staff were so welcoming and the owner is socially involved with all the guests. The room was wonderful and the lake view was spectacular. The ONLY reason for the 3 star rating was the water quality. The table water in the dinning room had a terrible odor and worst taste. The water in the room was the same so we used bottle water to brush our teeth and left a day early to get home for a refreshing shower. Would love to go back if the water quality was better.

Up north, staying near Clam Lake, last week of September. Took a trip over to Garmisch for dinner. Manager the only one working bar. We and two other parties all that were there this evening. He was very generous and answered all of our questions. Recommended the shaved rib eye sandwich. It was astoundingly good, as three of us who ordered agreed. A beautiful spot on the lake, we watched a gorgeous sunset as we ate. Very much recommended. Eager to return on future trips to this area and try their schnitzel, which the manager said was also very good.

Loved the old lodge atmosphere! Enjoyed great service in the dining room and highly recommend the bread pudding.

Our room was cozy with a cute fireplace, I think a room on the second floor would be more private.
We hope to return in the summer to enjoy boating on the lake when the water is soft...
