Our first time stopping in for lunch. Our waitress was good at her job, took time to explain the menu. The brisket had great flavor and a nice crust. The smoked turkey breast was juicy and good also. My husband got the ribs and half chicken. Chicken was great! The ribs were tough and fatty. If they had about 2 more hours in the smoker with a chance for that fat to break down and melt they probably would've been great. I was excited the veg of the day was collard greens, but sad that they were so vinegary - inedible. The roux in the mac n cheese also needed more time to cook, there was a heavy, pasty, raw flour flavor and texture. The atmosphere and decor are nice, clean, and open. I think the place has great potential!
Me my husband and our friend had Valentine’s Day dinner there. Our server was great and service was speedy. The boys had the meat coma which was amazing especially for the price. Basically 4 meals! And my pork sandwich was good. I did 4 stars because I think the sides could use some refining but the atmosphere is fun and the meat is amazing.
Overall my partner and I enjoyed our time at Doc's. We understand new restaurants go through growing pains at the beginning, but overall we had a good experience.
Ribs - great. Really enjoyed
Pulled Pork - decent. Have had better, but still satisfied.
Brunswick Stew - Super good!if you're into stews, this one will hit the spot.
Brisket chili - was good. Not as good as stew.
Carolina Vinegar slaw - not my cup of tea - but wasn't upset about it. Had a little spice to it.
Fries - were fine
All the sauces were yummy and customer service was great. Will come back and try the brisket next time, since one of the servers said it was really good.
My son and I went there on Saturday night and loved it. From Brian, Scott, Aaron, and definitely our server Anthony (who was great) made our whole experience wonderful. Anthony made some nice recommendations that did not disappoint. The dry rub is so good, you don't even need the sauce. From the chicken wings, Pig wings, and brisket chili everything was top notch. We loved the touch of brown sugar in there. The only thing missing was the corn bread. We wish they had the burnt ends offered every day, but it just gives us a reason to go back to try them. Thanks for having us, and we will be back. We hope the community supports you, and that you stick around for many years to come. Also, a shout out to Carter for telling me about the pig wings. Delicious!
