We LOVE Gates and Brovi! Went there after the Madison Mingo game last night! Great fish fry as always... but my hubby ordered the clam, Italian sausage and leek pizza with red sauce instead... And well.. it's now a favorite for all!! It was awesome! Of course my old fashioned was perfect as always. ????
Great neighborhood restaurant and pub. My family has probably dined here at least 50 times since they opened. There is a reason why it's always crowded. Fun staff and great food, with a nightly menu special that is unique and always tasty!
Worth a visit. Likely one of the nicer family-friendly restaurants around that also caters to folks without children looking to have an evening out. Just an enjoyable place to spend an evening.
The setting is great, with a number of stylistic touches to reinforce its vibe. The cocktail menu was decent and people liked the beer list. The food looked amazing, but it seemed to be lacking something. I’m not sure quite what exactly, but something was missing. You can see from all the photos I shared that the offerings are diverse and the dishes were well-prepared and plated carefully; the salmon and roasted carrots in particular was well-constructed. The fries were cooked enough to have the rich brown coloration and the greens served with the burgers were fresh and well-dressed. Unfortunately, the food looked better than it tasted, but neither the presentation nor the food were bad. Definitely an above average restaurant and great place for an evening with friends or family.
Enjoyed a great oyster happy hour! Good drinks, great food and a pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommend giving it a try
It's got the feel of a northeast seafood shack but goes way beyond that, veering into Italian and midwestern cuisine. It's a neighborhood restaurant and bar, but more upscale. Always good tunes (bluegrass/folk/Americana) playing. East coast oyster happy hour most days. Good brunch on the weekends. Adventurous specials most nights.
