Yes old style and dark. Been coming to Madison for 30 years and have to say never tried this place. Feels like an old 60s bar with tables and A little dark inside. The places we’ve been eating up town have been so wonderful and bright with lots of lettuces and I would have to say tasty food that this was a bit of a disappointment. I had salmon on a bed of rice with some weird red sauce that I can’t even tell you what it was . The fish was over seasoned it was a small piece. My wife had the walleye and also it was so black and that she didn’t know if she was eating chicken. I tasted my son’s sandwich and it had a lot of gristle in it and the meat didn’t taste right either, but it was just a bite , They must’ve seasoned it also which you don’t even have to do. I only gave it three stars because the wait help was a nice young man who seem to want to please. This is on a Sunday night and I should’ve understood that it was completely slow except for the bar drinkers. Other restaurants in the area or bustling when driving here! There was nothing else a company my dinner plate so it was heavy but my stomach feels it this morning. Good luck

It's a bar decorated like a den. There are legit books on the walls. It's a restaurant that serves really good food. Like point to something on the menu - yep, that one's good. I am a vegetarian and I STILL have multiple options, but so do my carnivorous and gluten free friends. Oh yeah, and they've got booze, too.

Been a few times, always so happy I stopped. The mint tea was excellent and the Reuben amazing. The service always helpful and on point, great place all around, love this place.

Friendly staff, casual atmosphere, fantastic food that accommodates a variety of tastes. I went most recently on a Saturday at 7:00, only had a wait of about 20 minutes for a party of 5. The host really knew what he was doing and the bar staff did a good job of keeping up with new arrivals despite a packed bar. My S/O is vegan and had several menu options, and everything that I have tried so far is delicious and comes in generous portions. Well worth a visit or twelve.

This was a very nice and unique pub the food was amazing and tasty. I have the goulash and was very pleased. They have some very nice beers as well so e of their own brews and a lot of local selections. The decor is eclectic with music instruments, mirrors books and a beautiful chandelier over the bar truly a fun place for a meal with friends and family.
