“The lost in the 70's decor is the perfect backdrop for this decades old, family owned iconic neighborhood restaurant. They food is as traditional "Steak House " as you can get. All the classic surf and turf items you'd expect. We were there recently with a rather large party and only one was disappointed with the steak. It was ordered medium well. It was decidedly well done. I can say that the Scallops were incredible. Dessert list is impressive, but the desserts are not made on site or baked local to my knowledge . Rather they seem to be from a supplier. Still, everyone who ordered something said they liked them. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The staircase up to the restaurant will prove problematic to those with cardiac and mobility issues.”

Don't stop frequently as I live in Duluth, but every now and then, run over on a Sunday and am more than pleased. “I apologize that this is the first review for a location by someone having their first papa J experience. I typically make my dough from scratch (with 30 hrs of time for the yeast to work) and bake my pizza meticulously. I was convinced to pay carry out prices for a pizza (which I still bake) after years of harasment. The Tuscan chicken turned out great...low moisture dough and simple to bake. The NY style dough was a simple thin crust that is surpassed by a simple DiGiorno...if I folded the crust (like anyone would on a NY street) it would crack and fall in my lap...NY style pizza has a moist dough graced by oil and sauce and offers moist crust which allows you to bend it and walk away from the shop. Do that with this dough and your carpets will be ruined. It's another GREAT AMERICAN fast food compromise. So mixed reviews. The location was amazing. Clean and friendly staff that that produced my order on time. I Can't fault any of my complaints to a branch of a franchise.”
