Address: 121A S, N Brown St, Rhinelander, WI 54501, USA

Restaurant

“I have been here a few times. I often have their BLT or steak sandwich with fries. I like frosted root beer on tap. Portions are just right and decent prices. Husband gets the turkey sandwich. There is alot of meat in these sandwiches. They don't blare the music so loud you can't have a decent conversation.”

Tacos-N-Tamales

Address: 2141 Lincoln St, Rhinelander, WI 54501, USA

Restaurant

“Decided to stop in for breakfast. It took a few minutes before anyone realized there was a customer at the front. The two employees were pleasant enough, but later a third employee came in while I was eating, and the three of them started to grip about other employees and how things were run. Now, I know employees complain about work, but I really did not want to hear it. Especially about the night shift not cleaning up or leaving things for the morning shift. Speaking of which, the booth that I sat in was dirty, crumbs everywhere, so they are not cleaning up in-between customers. Since it was breakfast, I would expect the place to be clean. Now the food. The waffle was actually pretty good. It was hot and was not soggy. If I remember correctly, I had to pay extra for syrup and it came in a small cup. I would have liked a little bit bigger cup. Also, they only have plastic wear. Half way thru my waffle, my fork broke. Pretty much everything is disposable except for the tray. I also ordered a breakfast burrito. It was much bigger than I expected. It wasn't to bad. I kept it simple with eggs and meat, but wish I would have gotten cheese for more flavor. I have not tried their lunch or dinner foods. But will likely check out their tamales and/or tacos.”

Restaurant

“Walked in around 3 PM on a Friday, immediately enjoyed the supper club vibe and retro feeling. Staff was not super welcoming, but friendly. Ordered a brandy Old Fashioned sweet to start, with special of the day, a ribeye steak sandwich and French Onion soup. I also got an order of cheese curds as an appetizer. The wait for the drinks and food was very reasonable. The brandy OF is delicious, one of the best I've had in a long time. I wish the same could be said for the food. The French Onion soup came out first, and was the best part of the meal, in that it was decent. The cheese curds are straight out of a Sysco box, and were barely cooked through. When I got the sandwich, it was just a piece of steak on a roll- no additional ingredients, and more concerning, no flavor. Thankfully the prices were quite reasonable. In summary, come for the drinks, but look elsewhere for food.”

“I spent quite a lot of time in the vicinity when a loved one was in hospice. I am gluten-free and this was my go to place when I took a break to go eat. Very friendly staff, very tasty sandwiches which were filling. I sat outside in their roofed patio during a rainstorm and it’s a day I’ll never forget. Highly recommend.”

“The food here is always good. I love that it's prepared when you order. The place is well kept and bathrooms are always clean too. I do wish that they would understand that 'Plain' sandwiches do not have pickles on them though. I always have to take the pickles off and endure the bled in taste since I am not about to waste food by returning it for them to toss out.”

Dinky Diner

Address: 230 Thayer St, Rhinelander, WI 54501, USA

Restaurant

“We love eating breakfast at the dinky! The food is always good; reliable quality and hearty portions. Owners and wait staff are friendly. As the name implies, small restaurant so it can be crowded. We got the last table. And it is very loud, lots of conversations going on. When it's that busy it takes along time to get your food and pay your bill. As long as you aren't in a hurry it's a nice relaxing place to get a home style meal. Oh and they use paper straws!”

Even our food service was rushed. Barely done with first course & main course came out. Next time I'm there, I'M gonna tell server how I want to eat.
