“I have been here a few times, mostly Wednesdays between 6 and 8pm. It has never been crowded, but the food is such a value that it should be. Wednesday night offers a pound of wings and pile of fries that will fill you for about $5. There are a few bar maids, all of which are quite proficient and one of which is a riot. The Friday fish fry is very good and came out in reasonable time with enough on the plate to prevent me from emptying it.”

“Nearly everything about this place is amazing good. Before you even walk in the doors, notice the cleanliness and maintenance of the grounds. The owners personally greet you at the door. The revolving door of local high school aged servers at their very first 'real' job are well trained - always attentive, polite, and quick. The food is always excellent. Good variety, good quality, wholesome home-cooked delights at both Friday dinner and Sunday brunch sessions. Honestly the only blemish in my mind is the condition of the well-used driveway and parking area. I love this place and highly recommend it to anyone that asks.”

The rye bread was good not greasy but the corned beef what does Deli sliced and corned beef that is slow cooked and falls apart on the sandwich gets much higher scores with me. We sat in the dark little room although there was other seating in other areas those were full. Seems like a popular place for the locals”

“I love the fish during Friday night fish fry. The location is in the country but easy to get to and park. Primarily a local hangout, one will get some looks when entering but it is nothing negative. The staff is pleasant and seating choices are decent. If I have any complaints it would be the same issue I have with most every bar. The cocktails are weak. Fortunately, I know enough to ask for an extra shot ($2.50 extra) and that satisfies me. In addition to the fish, I have also had the fried chicken. Also a very good choice. if you are looking for a new place, try here. And arrive early. Reservations are not accepted.”

“Owners have changed and so had the menu, there is currently no beacon burger. The owner had said that there are plans to bring back the beacon burger. The mustard sauce seems to have changed, its much more mayo-y now. But nevertheless the food was decent, but could be a lot less stingy with the fries. Four stars because I have hope. OLD REVIEW : One of the best burgers ever, plus that amazing lovely delicious sauce they have with the burger makes it the best around, and its never gonna let you down.”

“We've been coming here for a couple years now and the place is just a great local spot for good [and unique] bar food and fun bartenders (Mike rocks!). It's even more fun in the summer time because it's one of the only remaining outdoor movie theaters in the area. There's great activities for kids on the movie grounds before the movies start and a bar for a couple adult beverages.”

“Stopped here the other day with a wedding party and I gotta say this place was really nice. Boat access off the Wolf River, spacious fenced in sand volley ball court in front. Everything inside was super clean and well maintained. Bar tenders were very cool, quick and cheery. Very nice tribute to the Armed Forces outside the building.”
