“I came here with a few friends on the first Friday they were open (2/17/23). One friend had been to a different location and recommended it for dinner. We split the cheese curds as an appetizer which were tasty. I had a delicious pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries. My friends ordered loaded mac bake and the carnivore pizza. Everything was yummy. I like that we can choose our own barbecue sauce and can mix and match. It was busy and service was pretty good for the first week open. It was a nice meal - nothing special, but we received our food in a timely matter and all of the orders were correct.”

“Good place for Mexican food. I had the burrito Guadalajara with chicken and it was huge. Definitely get your moneys worth. It was flavorful and I liked the tomato sauce on the outside. They start you with chips and salsa and the salsa has a bit of spice, but I still enjoyed it. We also got guacamole which was also good. Overall would recommend!”

“I purchased a car wash package at the Ballard Road Appleton/Hwy 41 location today, (March 23, 2021) at approximately 10:30 am. The two ladies running the place were phenomenal. Their helpfulness with my car wash program was indeed beyond the call of duty. In this day and age, it is very difficult for employers to find good help. Cudos to this Shell station operator at finding these ladies, hiring them, and then managing to keep the on at his/her store.”

“A really fun place. It's like the TARDIS, bigger on the inside... I did not think it would be so big but it is wide and open, nice and casual and really fun. There's lots of space by the bar area and a whole other area for seating, a few games and extra tables, just a really nice place to hang out. We ordered food at the bar, the nachos were delicious. I left off a few stars for service because at the time we were there, there seem to be a lot of bartenders and no real concern for the fact that we had been sitting there for 5 minutes with no drinks or food orders. It could have just been the time of day or whatever but We sat for a while without really being looked at which was odd, So I thought I would note that. I will definitely be back, though, We just went in for a short time but I could see staying there for longer next time.”

“Brand new restaurant! Excellent food, everything is cooked in a cast iron skillet and fired in a wood burning oven. The owner is one of your chefs and extremely hands on with his staff. Speaking of staff, they are very knowledgeable and welcoming! The menu is diverse while also being specialized! The double edged sword with this restaurant happens to be the size.... It is small and cozy so you will most likely have to wait for a table! All in all a fantastic addition to the neighborhood and an absolutely wonderful experience!”

“The Black Bear Restaurant in Appleton is a great place to get a good meal and everything is very reasonably priced. Very friendly staff. I actually lost my wallet the other night. The next morning when I realized it and called the restaurant and asked if it had been turned in. The manager said that it was dropped off at my house and told me where they had put it. This was something totally unexpected and very much appreciated! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice “home cooked meal” and excellent service.”
