Great food at a reasonable price, in a great atmosphere! A perfect fit for Port Washington's seafaring vibe.
Recommend giving the Scotch Egg (hard boiled egg encrusted in a deep fried brat) a try. Numerous other customers were vocal about enjoying the various pickled eggs. (We'll try those next time.)
The clam chowder was excellent. The panko crusted cod was delicious and the fries and slaw with it were great. The reuben sandwich was also delicious.
I expect the other sandwiches and desserts will also meet now high expectations on future visits.
Went with another couple for dinner last night. Nothing but positive things to say...great decor and atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff (Amelia was our waitress and she was wonderful), food was amazing we had the salmon spread (delicious), clam chowder (which I'm not typically a fan of because of the glue like texture but I would seriously eat just 3 bowls of this for dinner any day super light and tons of great flavor), sandwiches were outstanding (ruben, pilgrim, admiral) portions are big and the steak fries were perfect and the apple dumpling thing was so good! Great drinks too! Try this hidden gem if you haven't, you won't be disappointed!
Great service from the bartender, for the most part. The cook staff had forgotten to turn on the fryers so we didn't get fries with our sandwiches until we are done with the sandwiches. On that note there were two choices, fries or soup, but they forgot to ask us if we had a choice preference. I know it's in the basement of a old building but it does have a smell of mold and or mildew. That needs to be abated. I did ask to take home a cup of the clam chowder because I love clam chowder and wanted to try it. So because of the late fries they didn't charge me for the chowder. On that note, if what I took home is a cup of soup I'll eat my shoe. It was roughly half a teacup full of soup in a small to go container. I didn't pay for it but if I did I would be upset.
The food here was excellent. We came here on a recommendation and we’re not disappointed. The fare is simple but very good. Eclectic describes the menu well. They need to get more silverware, other than that, it’s all good 😄
My wife and I stopped in for lunch and we were not disappointed.
The entrance from Franklin Street is the same door as the Chiropractor. You will need to go down the stairs to find the restaurant.
The atmosphere is comfortable & private and the service was very good. The smoked salmon spread was a great way to start. My wife ordered the Susan B and she enjoyed it much. I enjoyed the Pilgrim tremendously.
The menu is somewhat limited, but we're hopeful it will grow as time passes. It will definitely be one of my regular stops.
