“One of the best! I really do love this place. When I first passed through Oconomowoc 3 years ago by happen chance, I stopped by Roots for lunch. The experience of seeing City Beach, eating lunch at Roots, and driving through downtown Oconomowoc was enough for me to pack up and move here 4 months later from an hour away. I think they have the best coffee/Lattes in town. Their food quality/service has always been top notch. The interior is cozy and contemporary, Intimate and relaxing. This has been a repeat business I have spent $100s of dollars with in the last 3 years. I love it. I just wanted to say that it is absolutely crazy that the breakfast burrito I ate today was 1/3 filled with corn. Not even fresh corn. FROZEN CORN! I’m still shocked. The texture and taste of frozen corn is beyond recognizable and barely palatable on a plate with butter let alone wrapped up and reheated in a breakfast burrito. Ya’ll need to remove the corn and replace with potato and even bell peppers (both can be frozen and reheated) - using frozen corn in a breakfast meal as an ingredient is crazy. The other thing was I had a hard time reading the menu today with the baby blue background and fine font. I overheard the elderly couple behind me discussing the same thing. I love Roots and will continue to patronize this business - but please guys tweak that burrito a little bit 🙏🏼🌽”

“First time. Texas Burger and Smashed Fried Taters. Burger was perfect through and through. Great choice of BBQ sauce on the burger. Nice juicy patty. Bun was soft and not stale. The potatoes are cooked exactly how I like my potatoes. Plenty of flavor choices. Dang! Soda is a great choice of beverage! Grabbed me a rootbeer. Overall 5/5 experience. Staff is friendly! Service was quick. Can't wait to go back for more!”

“It can be hard to find healthy AND clean food, so we’re so grateful for this place. Our (picky) kids ate and ate, and we felt great about everything we were feeding them. The bread is so good. We got the chicken pesto and Buffalo chicken sandwiches and a loaded avocado toast, and the bread especially just takes everything to the next level. Also recommend the chocolate cherry smoothie if you have a sweet tooth like me. So creamy and smooth! The staff was also wonderfully friendly and helpful. We love this place.”

I thought it was good, but not what I would associate with a traditional schnitzel. The coleslaw is a vinegar-based slaw. It was unremarkable. “I was greeted by the two employees present who were so very friendly and welcoming. The young lady running the register was very kind and helpful. I got the choco banana shake which has something like 24g of protein. It was delicious if not a little pricy, but the drink size was nice and large. “Went there for the won-ton wrapped mozzarella sticks, and they were very good. Also got wings while there, and they were SO good!! Huge, almost chicken tender sized. Reasonable pricing for the amount of food we got. We were seated quickly, and it took a few minutes for our server to come over. When she did, she took our order right away and our food was out very fast. She was very attentive and nice. Only complaint I had was my table was a little bit sticky, but will definitely go back for wings again!”
