Zen Mixed Martial Arts

We are new members to ZAP. We brought our SK child over to ZAP after having a negative experience with an afterschool program at a new school. It’s been incredibly convenient for me as a working parent (school bus drops him off, and he’s in a convenient location for me to pick up on my way home), and a relief to know my son is in a safe, caring and fun environment, while also learning karate - which was something I have been trying to find the time to enroll him in. Maria is in charge of the program and she does an amazing job with the children. She feeds them snacks, keeps the children in line, and genuinely cares that they are doing well and having fun. Every time I’ve been by, the children (when not in a karate class), are engaged by Maria in a new activity. Our son loves Maria and her sugar sprinkled home-made waffles, and is having a great time learning karate. We’re very happy to have found Maria and ZAP.

Great place for my 7 year old son. He’s loving the ZAP program, his karate classes, his instructors, and his new friends. Awesome place to sign up your child!

I'm a newer member here and am loving it. I'm in decent shape, but as an older, female member it's nice that everyone is so welcoming and encouraging with a newbie. So far I've done Women's Self Defense, Jui Jitsu, and Muay Thai classes and the instructors have all been excellent. Front staff has been great too. It's a clean facility with plenty of parking. The atmosphere is very positive here.

I've been training here for around 2 weeks and it's been fantastic. David and the trainers like Ape are excellent. There are classes everyday that you can sign up for. The place is also new and clean. Highly recommended.

David, the owner, is a very charismatic and impressive leader and instructor. I strongly recommend this institution, and if you have any needs, concerns and comments, please feel free to speak to David, who has a big heart filled with warmth and compassion. I wish him all the success which the potentials allow this institution to grow, blossom and stand out in the community.

My son is in the after school and Little Samurai programs. I love that the martial arts classes are offered during the after school program. From the beginning, they have been very responsive with any questions I had with the programs. I really appreciate the care and especially the friendly and helpful communication they provide to us! I've never had any problems with Zen, including unexpected late pickup. Other places start the timer on the "Late-pickup clock" immediately and will punish you. The room for the after care program is quite small, but they go to the library next door, Bubble Sea and parks for activities, so it's fine. Since the school strikes have begun, the full day activities have been a lot of fun for my son! Since participating in both programs, my son has shown more self-confidence and he really enjoys being at Zen. The class instructors also demonstrate great care and patience towards the little samurais.
