“Sort of Down-to-Earth restaurant in a small town backed onto farm fields. There is a unmistakeably strong German flavour. The serving sizes, e.g. Pork hocks, ribs, sausages, etc. were very generous. Perhaps more importantly, the taste was quite good too. The aroma arrived before the plate was delivered to our table. At the first bite when digging in, pretty much every taste bud got a good charge of pleasant and satisfactory stimuli, and it last throughout the meal, amazing.”

“We found the store after walking for 3 days from Goderich. It was a rainy day and this was the perfect spot to get refreshed and fed and find our rather sore feet in order to set out again. The food was fresh. Must admit coated French fries are not my favourite but these were good and the fish was wonderful. Flakey, hot and tender. The selection of drinks is rather extensive for a smaller store and though I did not get a chance to taste it (the person I was hiking with did) I am given to understand the soft serve vanilla is delicious (He has editted this to say the best soft serve he has ever had.) We tried to finish the last 40km fast enough to make it back to town before they closed the next day for another celebratory ice cream but I was 15 minutes late. Will be driving back to try it again sometime.”

“Four of us went there for supper Friday night. We had their Friday night special which was barbecued ribs dinners. Three of us had the ribs with double baked potato with sour cream and butter the vegetable was turnip and the litter comes with a small coleslaw. I had the barbecue ribs what's the french fries turn up for the vegetable and the coleslaw. I started off with a garden salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing. We all got a slice of homemade bread with her dinner and butter. The dinners we're outstanding the ribs for succulent tender fall off the bone so good the barbecue sauce is a sweet BBQ sauce not a smokey Mesquite. I do not like Smokey Mesquite BBQ I prefer a sweet BBQ sauce and they nailed it. The service was good the environment is friendly and the ambience is good. Highly recommended by myself to family or friends.”

“Service was amazingly slow but food made up for it in tasting great. Best Caesar Salad I've had in a very long time. Definitely not Reness nor Kraft dressing. Friendly and very busy. Quaint place. Not recommended for Vegans as the Decor is Rawhide seating. Many extra pieces of them hanging over the low walls. Beautiful taste in use of rawhide. Definitely not for Vegans!!Seems like they are modeled after the many Mennonite Farms out in that area that still exist as mentioned on the menus. Food is freshly prepared and so tasty.”
