Great cozy Location with authentic fresh dishes. It probably would be good for large groups but great for 2-4 couple . There is a bar if you are alone and want to meet others.

Small little place missed brunch so we stuck around for lunch service. Had the mushroom and Rigatoni pasta plate, excellent dish, with a side of fish. Carrot cake was superb

The Essential was a great place to sit outside and enjoy a delicious lunch. The prices are not terrible, most items ranging between $12-20. Morris Ave is a nice historic setting for this upscale American restaurant. Menu was made up of small plates, salads, sandwiches, and pasta. They are also opening a patisserie where they will make their baked goods fresh daily for the restaurant. Relatively small indoors could limit the availability for lunch during the colder months, but when it is nice outside the patio is always full of people.

Enjoyed a late morning date at this spot. Wish they had a larger of variety of pastries. At the time they only had two types of pop tarts. But they were huge and delicious! I also had them make a honey cinnamon vanilla latte and it was on point. Would love to go back when they had a large selection.

The Essential was great. The pastries looked amazing although we didn't try one. I had one of their specials which was an eggs Benedict with a croissant and tomato and feta. It was wonderful... everything was homemade and perfectly paired. The coffee was good just a great nice breakfast spot!
