“The complete shining stars this experience was the fried Chicken on the chicken stack. A huge piece of chicken that was cooked perfectly and seasoned deliciously. Lemon blueberry pancakes were good, but you'll want to get a side of syrup to go with them. The grits tasted like a combination of grits, gravy, and potato soup. Great flavor if it hits the spot. Biscuits were HYUGE!”

“Staff were polite, friendly, and very helpful. The food was banging as my friend from Jersey said after eating her chicken and waffles. Beverages were on point as well. Great music, vibes, and all around enjoyable on so many levels.”

“Their awesome Breakfast is off the chain. Better than Waffle House and Staks in Auburn. Need to check it out, their prices for 2 eggs, 2 meats, small bowl of grits and bowl of gravy, 2 toast or biscuit and 2 pancakes. Everything comes out at the same time hot. Very delicious food 😋! Refills on our coffees and sodas. Great price $10 or $12.”

“Nice shop for brewing equipment in downtown Opelika. They have all that you may need to brew and bottle and the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. They also have a great selection of their own and local brews. You can get samples if you need help figuring out what you'd like. The atmosphere is great and the place has a cozy small town family feel. They don't serve food, but there are plenty of nearby places to get a pick up or delivery order. They show football games during the weekend and the crowd is always friendly. A perfect place for family, including pets. They also have games if you or your children don't care about the sports. Definitely a great place to visit.”

“We had dinner here for our anniversary and absolutely loved it. The restaurant is stunning, the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and the food is out of this world. We had a tasting menu filled with items we had never tried and now love. The presentation of each plate was beautiful. We requested to meet the chef to ask him a few questions and he accommodated our request which was an added bonus for the night. The view from the rooftop bar is breathtaking. Nothing like taking in Auburn University and Toomers Corner at this angle at night! We will definitely come back and highly recommend going to 1856!”

“I came here for my birthday and college graduation both were on the same day. The food was delicious and service was good and the food was affordable. I told the service it was my birthday and they sang me happy birthday. The only thing I found different most Mexican restaurants give you a free dessert but they charge.”

“Customer service is just ok. Place is new enough to be clean and well kept and the gas is cheap. Chesters chicken inside is great, they have a good deli and their salads are actually really good. Prices, as expected for non-gas is high.”

“Excellent food with a few surprise entree specials! Nostalgic location for the locals but amazing transformation with the renovations, new buildings, gardens, and landscaping that feels almost European. Service was very friendly and courteous but a little slow on this occasion. We will definitely be returning for future meals as the seasons change!”

“Fabulous garden center and multiple dining experience options! The indoor restaurant looks amazing and we plan to visit and eat there soon. Since our young children were with us we sat outside and got delicious fare from the market. There was live music and the wait time was very short even though it was a fairly busy weekend afternoon. All of the plants and items in each store section are clearly carefully curated and just lovely. Had to stop myself from buying them all!”

“We got the wing combo. They were delicious! I’m not sure who cooked my order but it was perfect. I asked for the wings to be cooked well but not hard. I had the honey hot sauce. It was excellent! The fries are wonderful too! Thanks for the great food! This was our first time ordering from here but you’ll be seeing us again soon! This place is now definitely one of our favs!”

“My friend and I tried this new restaurant for a late lunch on a Friday afternoon. We were warmly greeted as we entered and welcomed to a comfortable booth. The decor is thematic and fresh. Our server was delightful, offering lots of attention but without being intrusive. She brought us a free appetizer with our margaritas- both were yummy. All of our food was delicious and fresh. I loved that there were some unusual/different menu items compared to lots of other Mexican restaurants - and lots of seafood selections. It was competitively priced and excellent quality. We'll be back!”

“This is an amazing and delicious Black-owned Southern BBQ restaurant. One of the owners welcomed me and thoroughly explained the menu because it was my first time. She was super sweet and hospitable. The pork ribs taste divine and fall of the bone. The baked beans had ground beef and were also delicious. I haven’t tried everything yet but will definitely be finishing the plate tonight. The picture below is of a mixed meat plate: pork ribs, grilled chicken, mac and cheese, baked beans, and corn bread. She also put samples of two different BBQ sauces in the bag. I will definitely be returning and telling everyone I know.”

“The jasmine milk tea with bubble , 30% sugar is so good. Very strong and natural jasmine flavor. The point is the price is cheaper than Kungfu Tea! This will be my bubble tea place in the future! Their fried chicken is good too.”
