The food is here is pretty good and they have a great selection of beer and ciders on tap.

I especially enjoyed their specially brewed pineapple cider. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, is that sometimes the food can be hit or miss in terms of flavor and taste. I wish they did better job when it comes to certain dishes (i.e., nachos).

Matsu Brewing is still a good place for lunch or an after work drink and dinner.

The Beer was good, the pizza was less exciting, but the French onion soup was excellent (it's a dish that is hard to find as a regular menu item around town).

I only thought to stop in because a friend had given me a gift card to the establishment. Though intended for growlers, I decided to give the food side a try with my kids. It was not particularly busy, rather slow actually, and I was seated promptly, our orders were placed, and food delivered relatively efficiently but then we were forgotten.

My kids, one of which ordered the pita pizza off the kids menu, the other, an individual slice of pizza with a salad, did not care for the pizza items. They drank their Shirley temples and the oldest ate her salad diligently, but would not touch the main entree's after tasting them. No big deal, kids can be picky. We were all finished up within 15 minutes or so of the food delivery, and then proceeded to wait. After 25 minutes the kids were becoming impatient, after at least another 10 of cleaning up my own table and waiting for a waiter/waitress to walk by and even make eye contact (several walked by, but they stated straight past) I gave up, walked to the hostess by the front door and asked how much I owed and provided the gift card to pay.

The gift card initially declined then subsequently covered a fraction of the bill (the card was for $50, and the bill $36.50), a partial payment was rendered for $13.50 (the charge had clearly been ran twice) it took another 10-15 minutes of eating for someone to correct the issue, but the manager who corrected it, who I believe also originally took our orders and never came back, didn't even interact with us, the young hostess seemed to have to awkwardly act as an intermediary.

I could not increase the amount of the charge to afford a tip, and had no cash on me, so I was left with the full $13.50 balance (I was told) on the card as I left. I don't know if I would be inclined to go back after the strange experience to finish off the card, but, luckily, on the way out the door a panhandler, without a coat, asked if I had any money to spare for food. I told her, "as a matter of fact, I do", and I gave her the card. Hopefully it still in-fact had money on it so as not to embarrass a second owner.

I don't know if I've ever complained about service, I'm a pretty easy going guy, but waiting nearly an hour to get noticed, let alone to get out of a place after finishing your meal, really sucks. Hopefully it was a one off, maybe I'll find myself there again someday at the bequest of someone else and it'll be better, who knows.

best beef tacos in town, meat is tender, lettuce on taco, not cabbage, i hate cabbage. sharp cheddar cheese. side sauce tasted so so, bottled or jarred or canned. no real distinction there.

Been by the place numerous times and finally decided to give it a try. Downtown is getting busy this time of year so I elected to try something new and away from the tourists. Came on a Saturday evening and had no trouble getting a high top in the bar area. Tried a flight of their IPA’s and all were pretty decent. Had the burnt pork belly ends appetizer. Excellent!! Highly recommend it. Added the blackened Halibut tacos to finish it off. The spice and heat are no joke. I like spicy food and these are spicy. Good service to boot. Will definitely go back
