Big E Steakhouse & Saloon

Simply great. We were traveling west, camping and hiking on the way. Had our dog with us, so that meant we didn't make many restaurant stops; if we did, it was outdoor seating, or we bought and took it to a park to eat.

I noticed that their outdoor seating section was closed, it was probably a slow day for them. I took a chance and asked the host if they'd let us eat out there so long as our dog was well behaved. They agreed.

(Front of house?) Manager greeted us at the outdoor seating, and lowered the window flaps and turned on the overhead space heaters just for us! Midway through the (tasty) meal, the manager returned with a few strips of bacon for our dog. I have to say I've never been treated with such consideration at a restaurant before.

Honestly, if we went back, I wouldn't expect them to go to these lengths again - it's just too far out of the normal. Opening and heating a section (night time temps were below freezing), letting our pup dine on the patio with us... That time was above and beyond. I'd be happy just to have a chance to eat there again, special treatment or not.

Awesome little old style saloon. Massive screen to entertain us with the beautiful scenery that we just got through seeing:). Went here with the whole family. NY strip was tender, fries were great cooked with no salt, which to me is a plus. Just add some and you're set. The Mac and cheese is delicious. Atmosphere was great, not crowded which is a plus. Staff is very friendly and are completely vaccinated! Can't go wrong here. You will enjoy!

Better than expected, but a little pricey for what it is. Realize it’s the Grand Canyon, but prices were still high. Seated quickly mid-week for lunch. Wife had med-rare steak and it was tasty. I had their signature burger & it was cooked as ordered. Beans good as well. Fries good all around. They do have a kid’s menu. Our waitress was efficient and attentive.

Hiked the canyon and headed to Big E's. Party of four required a brief wait for a table. Nice comfy couches to wait at. Restaurant was clean, tables sanitized, and warm inside, which was nice since it was cold & raining. The waiter, Alex, was friendly and the order was correct when it arrived at the table. The food presentation was good. The steak was prepared to correct temp, tender and had great flavor. The loaded baked potato was equally delicious. All things considered, it was the best meal choice to end a perfect day.

After a day of exploring the park, we decided we were in the mood for a steak so we decided to give this place a try. It definitely has a great southwestern decor. After a brief wait we were seated and of course both ordered steaks. Our server was good although at times seemed to disappear. Our food was brought out nice and hot and both of our steaks were cooked exactly as ordered. My mashed potato was wonderful and my g/f enjoyed her vegetables that came as her side. The server when he did drop by was friendly and the pricing wasn't too bad at all. I can see us going here again if we are in the vicinity of the park.
