“I always get the house special sauce either medium or spicy & it's pretty good. I usually get 2lbs of shrimp, 2lbs of mussels, 1 order of potatoes & 2 orders of sausage to share between 2-3 people. I docked 1 star because both times, the mussels were not good. Not sure if they over cooked them or they're not fresh but they gave me a stomach ache so I just stopped ordering mussels & stuck with just shrimp. Other than that, the shrimp & sauce is really good.”

“Supermarket experiences are hard to review. It's a hit or miss thing. Mostly because it's an entry-level type of job. One day you get a really good employee and the next day she's gone. The produce here is mostly catered to the Hispanic population. I come here for the discounted produce. It can be cheaper than Safeway or Lucky's. Today I met a friendly woman who showed me how to eat fresh garbanzo beans. And at the register I had a cashier lady who spoke fluent English. The employees here are mostly friendly and helpful. Too bad there are no self check out stands.”

“Sandwiches at Ike’s are always good. But the sandwiches aren’t that big and they are pricey. This Ike’s just opened as of this posting so lines are still long and we had to wait 30 minutes for our sandwich. The space isn’t very big so it can get crowded. There are only about 8ish small tables and not a lot of space to wait in line. I’m sure the lines will die down significantly after a few months. It’s in the same plaza as the Starbucks right next to the Costco gas station. Plenty of parking available in the lot so no worries on that end. Overall, it’s great to see an Ike’s in Hayward. We need more solid place like this to eat!”

“I actually had 3 piece KFC grilled chicken with 2 side and a drink & they were soooooo good. It tasted like just came out of oven. The young lady with a cute hat who took my order was very nice & professional. Another lady who cleans the tables and chairs was diligent. Bathroom was very clean and the atmosphere was warm, nice & very clean. I would go back!! Good job KFC for good food & excellent service!!!!! KFC hired the right people in this location.”

“This is the only Indian food option in the food court on the lower floor of the Southland Mall. It is located on the left side at the bottom of the stairs coming through the mall or the right side coming down the elevators. The food is quite good and the naan is legit, fresh and tasty. The only complaint I have is not really a complaint but something I would point out because the expectation is the food in the Southland Mall food court would come out relatively quick. However, when ordering food here it will take a while for them to make the food since it is made fresh. Therefore the wait for your food will be longer than you may expect from a fast food establishment or any of the other restaurants in the food court here. I would estimate the wait time to be about 10 to 12 minutes. You can sit at the tables in the food court and wait, but don't expect it to come out in a flash. At the same time, once it's ready, you're in for a treat because this is good stuff. If you need a vegetarian meal, or like Indian food, and you have a few minutes to spare for your food to be made then this is a worthy place to try.”

“Small taqueria that does to go orders only. Ordered 6 tacos, a jarritos, and a medium horchata. Spent about $21 and some change. Not bad for two people. Tacos were tasty and tortillas tasted like they were hand made. Cashier was pretty friendly and knowledgeable about their menu. I plan on going back to try their burritos next.”

“Katalina’s Island Grill NEVER disappoints!! I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for a while. My favorite dish to get from here is the spinach with corn beef, rice & turkey tail. For a mom & pop restaurant, I don’t mind paying the price— the taste & customer service is a plus! I recently placed a catering order with Katalina’s Island Grill for an event my club was hosting at Chabot College. This was my first time placing a catering order with them and I must say, it was well worth it!! The order was made 2 weeks in advance, with a set time & date. We ordered enough food to feed 200 people. Since they’ve done this a lot, they were super helpful with estimating how much trays of food was needed. We ordered 2 entree trays: teriyaki chicken & lu pulu (taro leaves & corn beef— MY FAV!!), 2 side trays: rice & plantains, 3 trays of dessert: banana bread (THE BEST) & pineapple pie, & 10 gallons of Otai (our cultural Mango drink). I was impressed when they contacted me saying my order was ready for pick up... it was a very busy day for me & I was running a lil late. They even offered to drop it off to Chabot College instead of me having to make a stop at their restaurant to pick it up. We recieved a lot of compliments during and after our event. One of the staff members even shared with us how he went back to get a fourth plate... lol. It’s a hole in the wall that’s definitely worth your money & taste buds!”

“Fried fish is their speciality. Overall food quality is good. Quiet spicy and authentic North Indian. Service is decent. Cleanliness could be a bit better. Decent parking (not a lot though). There is brunch every day they are open but I don't like that. Food feels a bit stale. It is better to order what you want to eat. It is not very pricey.”
