Took my wife for her birthday and everything was amazing the cauliflower soup was by far my favorite.

Good food. Ok service. Went with friends with a 5 year old... not sure the restaurant ever had a child there. But good share plates and nice happy hour.

I stepped in here for breakfast after wandering on Lakeshore. I had the winter vegetable hash with poached eggs for breakfast and it was great. The dish was very colorful as they used a really good mix of lots of veggies (it wasn't mostly potatoes) and the eggs were done just right. The atmosphere is trendy and not too lots - all very pleasant. I really enjoyed my meal and will come back.

A beautiful establishment in a hip area. The coctails were excellent, the food phenomenal. Staff was friendly and offered great recommendations. We went on a Friday during restaurant week and there was about a 40 min wait to be seated, but we were able to grab a seat for drinks and appetizers at the bar. I'll definitely be back for a full meal!

It pains me to only give 3 stars. Penrose used to be great. Used to have great food and drink. On my last visit the drinks were unbalanced and the food was so so. The service was good however. I'll give them another chance, but I fear with Charlie's departure things may have taken a turn for the worse.
