“Visited the Beachcomber Cafe in Trinidad, CA on a Sunday morning. First time. The cafe was open for outdoor seating on a nice patio area. The menu was posted on the wall and we ordered at a walkup window. Service was awesome, friendly and helpful with menu selection advise. Our food tasted good and the mocha we ordered was great! A very nice cafe worth visiting, in my opinion.”

“Counter service excellent. Greeted by cooks upon entry. Guided through menu selection. Turkish meatball sandwich and some other sandwich, both excellent. Served with side sauces, chili and taziki. Candy bar with sesame nougat. Fresh made pita bread with an eggplant garlic dipping sauce. Yum on all accounts! Going back to experiment with other menu adventures.”

“Open at 7, so this is an early start place with great service and items. Bread, eggs, chorizo and pastries with an excellent bear claw with real marzipan served in brown paper trays, bags and napkins. Espresso and three hot pots of coffee self serve in paper cups. Cultural icons, smooth jazz and old brick walls make up the ambiance. Good options for most diets.”

“Great food & fast, friendly service! I was really impressed with their non-meat meatball sub and jerk chicken tacos. One of the best local food trucks in the area. If you get the chance don't even hesitate because Sistah's Vegan has amazing food at just the right price✌️😌”

“At the suggestion of a new friend I met out on the trails, I tried this eatery. Full disclosure, the person recommending works there as well. Said they had the best burger in town after I mentioned looking for a good one. So I went in with every intention of having a burger. Was welcomed quickly by a friendly server and offered a choice of seating. A bit quiet when I arrived so I was happy. Quite full by the time I left (both my belly and the restaurant). Well upon looking at the menu I decided I was more in the mood for a salad so i opted for the Cobb and I must say it was perfect. Super fresh romaine, delicious chicken and I think I may have to marry their bacon! I thought it looked a bit small at first but once I tucked in to eating I realized this is a substantial salad (around $15). Well worth the price, given the location, and obvious food quality. Looking at some other menu items, I thought they may be a bit pricey but if they are like the rest of the food, probably worth it. They've got an assortment of cider and beer and wine as well. The decor is bright and airy and welcoming. For dessert I had a brownie with ice cream that about the size of Montana, had to tap out halfway (ate all the ice cream!), and brought the rest home. All in all very wonderful time. Bill was just over $30 and worth every cent. Round two: I went back for the burger and although the "Bleu" burger is highly recommended, I was drawn to the "Good" burger and glad I did return. Absolute perfection again, with Drew in the kitchen crushing it. Delicious, well-flavored meat, fresh topping and a bun to die for, but again, bacon... oh my. But what I didn't expect was to have the single best order of onion rings I have ever had in my life. You could actually taste the onion! Handmade to order, these are NOT nasty reheats from a bag, they were sublime. On point, well done my friend. OMG, I almost forgot the housemade ranch dressing. I am not a big ranch fan unless I make it from scratch at home, but on Alysha's suggestion to dip the 0-rings, I am glad I did. Like most things here, you get what you pay for. Quality. Had a Cherry cider with the meal in a can and then Friends with Benefits from the tap. The floral nose on that was so good, somehow I managed to finish the whole pint! All in all, a wonderful place to chill with friendly servers, (Ronnie and Alysha) and an overall soft and welcoming vibe. Food the second time was around $25 for a burger and two drinks, again, very reasonable given the quality of service and food. PS... thanks to Val, I am glad we met!”

“We drove to Eureka from Oregon specifically to visit Lost Coast, and it was the best decision we ever made. Their Tangerine wheat is delicious, and the food was amazing (best bbq pork I've EVER had). The staff takes obvious pride in the business, absolutely can't recommend enough.”

“This review is long overdue! My bf and I had spent the night in Arcata and decided to grab some breakfast before we left. Wow what a great decision that was. To begin, we walked in and not two mins later there was a line out the door-we missed the crowd. We chatted with the very nice people in line and looked at all the wonderful breads. As we were paying for our bagel sandwiches one of the staff members gives us the loaf of bread we were admiring! Already enjoying the atmosphere that seemed palpably aligned, we ate our food. The bread melted in our mouths, the bagels were delicious and crafted with good ingredients and their chai was the best I’ve ever had. We love this place and think about it often. Can’t wait to go back. Thanks Los Bagels for a wonderful memory.”

“My go to spot for sitting down with my laptop and having a delicious drink. Lattes are a bit pricey, but worth it for the taste and quality of ingredients. Getting house made coconut milk is included in the price if you’re dairy free! The blueberry muffins are killer, as is the Portuguese rice pudding. I always feel welcomed by the friendly staff, too!”

“This place was so great I came back the very next day. Day 1 we got the vegan Mac and cheese and vegan McGriddle sandwich. Day 2 we got the vegan nachos and enchiladas. All four meals were delicious! Super flavorful, very large portions, fresh ingredients.”

“Arrived Sunday morning before 9:00 am. Greeted, seated with water immediately. Waited 10 minutes for drink order to be taken. No decaf machine drinks, so they brewed a fresh pot for my husband. He loved it! My latte with an extra shot was very weak. It took another 10 minutes. Long wait for food. 9:38 it arrived. Complete breakfast: over medium eggs a bit hard. Gravy tasted bacon bases, sweeter than the average sausage gravy. No jam offered. Bacon tasty, but small cut portion. Side potatoes were good, crispy, and a great vehicle for the organic catsup to get into your mouth! The corned beef Benedict gets a mixed review. The eggs were poached perfectly. But the hollandaise sauce was flavorless and skimpy. The kale green were tender, someone stayed up late massaging the greens! The corned beef hash had very little flavor. When you're salting the corned beef for taste, something is wrong. Cottage cheese side option is nice, served in a small glass jar. Our bill before tax was just shy of $50. The location is historic for Arcata. My husband's good friend's mother cooked in the "Tower" in the 60's. Take time to appreciate the curve glass windows in the Tower, and the overall architecture of the building. The rooms and tables are comfortable, but those chairs! They make the wait hard to endure. I had to take walks around and outside. The bathroom is spacious and clean.”

“This place was recommended to me by a local, and although there's lots to pick from, the food didn't have very much of a taste. I imagined the roast beef would be hot, but it's a cold sandwich, the meat is dry, and chewy. The 🍠 potato chips are okay too, they were slightly burned. The quinoa pudding or whatever that was called was also tasteless, probably the best part of the order was the cookie 🍪. They do make their own sodas. Also, the young lady Ema at the front counter was so nice and welcoming. Their stroganoff was also not good, I went there specifically for that, but it had that same dry chewy meat, and it just didn't have a flavor. Including the 10.00 tip it was about 55.00 for everything pictured.”

“We had a very good lunch here. My wife had the lamb plate and thought it was excellent. I had the , Nooner sandwich. It was excellent also. The fries with my sandwich were also good! Both meals were very well portioned, we were able to eat the whole meal, but we're not stuffed. The staff was very friendly! They made you feel very welcome to be there. We will be there again!!!”

“Cup of clam chowder and seedy focaccia bread, local brewed Kombucha 16oz. If chowder is an art, this is a Monet, a Mozart. Thick but not heavy, flavor of the sea but not overly salty. Bread is life, quality of bread is quality of life. True quality, artists in the kitchen. Make sure to stop by and enjoy this oasis.”

“I’ve been going to Shotz for about four years now and always have great coffee and contact with the employees. Unfortunately today on Saturday, September 10, 2022 I had a very poor experience with an employee. It wasn’t anything drastic, it was just the common courtesy type thing i.e. Hi, how are you today? Additionally, when my transaction was done, there was no verbal contact like, thank you or have a nice day. I don’t wish to make a mountain out of a mole hill but someone should remind Cass that customer service is the key to repeat business and building a successful business. Updated 9/16/22, thank you for your response and I look forward to hearing back from you.”

“Stopped off the highway on the way home from a trip. Absolutely loved this place. Inside dining closed due to covid however the little garden was wonderful to sit and eat in. Food was delicious! I got the breakfast burrito and honestly think it's the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. Partner and I are hoping for a reason to come thru this part of california again just so that we can stop here and try more of the food. Thank you!”

“Great place for a cup of coffee and a pastry. The coffee is good with two shots of espresso! One of the best features are the shirts that are available, and it's more than worth it to stop by just for them. Just stop in and get a few chuckles and a new shirt.”

“Great mochas, and the kids said that their hot chocolate was the best they have ever had. I tried the Mexican mocha (amazing), and the white mocha (really, really good). The only downfall is that the drinks are priced for 1 shot, additional shots are extra (all sizes come standard with 1 shot only). I didn't mind paying for an additional shot, as the coffee was of the highest quality, and was smooth, full of flavor, and flat out delicious The avocado toast was a hit with my 11 year old as well. The owner and staff are super friendly and inviting.”
