“Really good pizza. We ordered a large half aloha and half blazing buffalo pizza and the drunken fries. Flavor was great I just wish they would have left the pizza in the oven a bit longer. I like the it a tad bit crispier and the fries were also a bit soft but otherwise really good flavor. Will definitely be coming back to try the other pizzas”

“A friend was telling me how happy she was with the retirement cake Bread and Honey made for her father, so I wanted to check it out. We ordered a white cake with buttercream frosting and raspberry mousse in the middle and it was beautiful and delicious! The thing that made it even more special to me was that the employee was super attentive and friendly when my mom picked up the cake for me and she even helped her take the cake to her car. I usually go to a restaurant or any establishment to eat and rarely hang out after I am done but something about this place that after I ate I just sat around with my wife and relaxed. “Quick Summary Listen to the name. Just get the chicken here (so juicy and full of flavor from their charcoal grill). Love the variety with the plantains as well Food- 5 stars Chicken plate- the chicken was so juicy and love the charcoal grill flavor. The beans, rice, tortilla were pretty solid as well Plantains- I rarely see plantains available at a fast casual spot, so really had to dig in. It was delicious, but reminder to ask them for the sauce! I didn't try the empanadas but didn't hear great things because they were sitting on the container (like a liquor store) for a while. Probably will stay clear unless I see them pop out fresh Service- 4 stars I wasn't sure if they were understaffed or still going through new restaurant kinks. Everyone was really friendly, but took it a bit longer to get our condiments and food (had to wait for a cashier for a while and also waiter had to manage multiple tables so took a while to get our food) Value- 5 stars No frills, fast/casual spot. Large portions, fantastic value. They even have family dinner options that provide excellent value Bottom Line Add El Pollo Riko as one of the gems of Bakersfield's growing fast casual restaurant scene. Great value, great food. Definitely try the chicken”

Really juicy and delicious chicken sandwich and the fried pickles were great with the fresh batter! Food- 5 stars Chicken sandwich- very juicy chicken sandwich as they sandwich 2 thighs into here. I ordered the mild (I'm not a big spicy eater) and I was still sweating from the heat. Overall, very solid sandwich as bread, spread, coleslaw, and chicken thighs were all very good Fried pickles- I chose this for my side and I think I made the right choice for a fried food that wasn't too heavy. Very notable that the pickles and batter appeared fresh Service- 5 stars The servers were very friendly and welcoming. Great service all around! I do not mean with excessive amount of salt - pure salt it was. Could not eat it. The sandwich ended up in their trash. The rest of my meal, fries, were OK, although nothing to write home about. I should think it was my fault: should not have ordered a pastrami sandwich at a burger place, even though it is on the menu...”
