The only downside about this place is the wait. But it's nice that they have a Yelp Check-in wait list so you can sign up before you arrive. Overall their soup dumplings were fantastic but on the pricier side. Plenty of soup when you bite into the dumpling. Other honorable mentions is the short rib fired rice and garlic string beans. Both were delicious! I hope to dine again but hopefully the long wait.

This was our first time at a dumpling and noodle place so we don't have anything to compare it to but Dan Modern Chinese is very good. We had Xiao long bao, short rib fried rice, string beans, and pork buns. Everything was delicious we just wished they had not run out of dumplings. Service was great and wait time was about 50 minutes.

Does it live up to the hype? Hard to say. It was good and filling but we cant compare it. It is worth recommending though.

Great place, especially since it is managed by Jean! What a great place! There is a reason why there is a wait line. Xiao long bao or juicy pork dumplings were larger and juicier than other famous dumpling place. The ox tail soup noodle had the broth that was thick and gelatinous. The string beans were well done with some special sauce. I also liked the spinach and bean sprouts stir fried. The pan fried chicken dumplings were devoured by my kid so fast that I could not taste it. Fried rice with short ribs was tasty, although next time I would ask for low or no salt. The servers were extraordinarily nice! Good job, see you again soon!

We've now visited this place 3+ times, and we have yet to be disappointed. The dumplings are comparable yet a perfect alternative to DTF. Chicken fried rice, pork XLB, crispy dumplings, and garlic string beans have been perfection. The service from the wait staff and managers have been the best I've experienced at any food establishment. It's great to have a delicious dumpling location in Pasadena. We highly recommend this place to all our friends, as we ourselves will be visiting repeatedly.
