For the price we pay, I wished they would have better service and better umami. The food is flat and the service was slow. They did put in their menu that their price is higher so they could focus on quality but honestly, can’t tell the difference.

Not too sure if I would come back or just drive a little further for DTF.

Food is good but not great. Style is very similar to Din Tai Fung. The service is a little slow, but better service than many other Chinese restaurants. Overall, I like the simple menu and atmosphere.

We scoped out Dan last night and definitely have it on our list of spots to go back to taste their other dishes.

It took a minute to get seated as the spot is newly opened and there were plenty of customers waiting to try their dishes. Once we were seated the food started flowing and the food did not disappoint. I would say the menu is simplistic and the food is no frills, just straight up good modern Chinese food.

We had the crispy pork dumplings, spicy oxtail soup, oxtail beef soup, and short rib fried rice all of which were two thumbs up. The dumplings went very well with the sauces they served and the crispiness was just right. I preferred the spicy oxtail soup, but the oxtail beef soup is good if you're looking for that clear broth taste. The short rib fried rice is cooked and seasoned just right.

As far ambience, the music is set at a medium eating pace, the tables are adequately spaced apart to make sure customers aren't bunched up in the spot and the decor and lighting is bright with a touch of modern.

We had a slight mix up with our order, but Annie the manager was quick to resolve the issue and we were very satisfied with their customer service. Knowing it's a new spot they have room for improvement as they sort out the balance between staff and customers. I would bump Dan up to a 5 star once things get sorted out. It's a great spot for us as a substitute for Din Tai Fung.

    Jan 6, 2019 update:
K, so an update to our review. This is my third time coming back since we first visited two weeks ago. They pretty much have the kinks worked out of their ordering system and things to be flowing much smoother now. I'm bumping my review from a 4 to a 5 star. The food is consistently "good" and I absolutely love their crispy pork pot stickers. Def worth waiting 30 minutes to eat. I can't even get my stickers to get this crispy at home with water+corn starch. Hopefully, I'll figure out what magic they use to get their crispy bottoms.

4.5 Stars with room to grow!!

I like this place. The food is fresh and the ingredients are well selected. The subtle tastes are clear and crisp that you can only find with near farm to table. Well done.

We ordered the crispy pork dumplings, and that takes 30 minutes, but well worth the wait. Lite crispy wrap, seared to perfection. 4.7 Stars.

Dumping noodle soup, clean and light sauce. Very nice. 4.5 Stars.

Seaweed salad, nice and fresh and the chicken fried rice, nice and tasty. Both, good 4 star dishes.

Service is awesome and a nice touch both managers came by to ask how things could be improved.

Bring your friends, we’re coming back.
