“Food was good! Someone in my party had dietary restrictions & the waitress paid close attention to them so that was good. From the time the order was placed, the food came out in 14 minutes. We ordered 4 rolls. The rolls that included imitation crab weren’t proportioned right though. Almost 100% fake crab & you could barely see the avocado. Nice way to save $ for the company but didn’t sneak past my eye. Not the freshest I’ve had, the food was good though.”

“I came for a 6:30PM reservation on a Saturday night for an anniversary dinner with my husband. Literally everything was outstanding. The wait staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, and the food was fabulous. It was also busy (being Saturday night) but the staff didn't seem overwhelmed and the dining room had a pleasant ambiance. I was a little bummed the beer I wanted to try had been switched out (it was still on the menu), but the server was quick to offer suggestions I may enjoy instead, and he was spot on. I'd definitely come back for any special occasion meal.”

Service was attentive at best. Their cocktails are great since they come from the bar. I ordered the Impossible Burger with fries for lunch. I have had Impossible Burgers at other places. I have to say they have one of the best tasting Impossible Burgers.”

“Definitely a hole in the wall place at the "gateway" to Lacosta. They really have one of the best breakfast burritos around! A large burrito stuffed with fluffy scrambled eggs plenty of cheese, some sort of magical tater tot like potatoes and smokey bacon. Salsas are spicy and delicious. Also they have catered several parties for me over the years and do not disappoint. Generous trays of different meats etc for make your own taco bar is how we roll. Whenever I buy lunch for my crew at work. Most of the time they want me to get Rudys!”

“This used to be our go-to place for Mexican food when it was back in Old Town, but over the years after the move to Carlsbad the overall quality has gone down significantly. The atmosphere is lovely, with the mariachi band and the outdoor seating by the fountain, that is if you get to sit by the fountain. The indoor seating is dark and cramped. The wait staff seemed too busy to come by, and the food was really not that special compared to other taco shops in the neighborhood. It might be a fun place to go when you have friends visiting from out of town, but if you are local, there are better Mexican foods elsewhere.”
