Grand Ole BBQ Y Asado

Grand Ole Bbq was the first north park business to be closed during the 2020 corona pandemic. If the choice is between savoury smoked ribs, and life itself; I choose life, pining after the brisket and peruvian white beans that once sat heavy in a stomach coated with spicy sauce.

Critics will say GOB was already closed, and had been for over a year. What crotchety naysayers! Regardless of reason, pro-community practices of social distancing and responsible business closure must be rewarded.

BBQ, mmm, so fresh. entered near ten, it was not crowded. prices are decent for the quality.

BBQ, super good. Visited on a Wednesday I think. The service was sociable and attentive. Bring your hunger - portions are large. Menu is like a place in San Francisco I loved.

I really liked this small BBQ joint in a quiet neighborhood in San Diego. The brisket had a nice smoke ring to it and the pork ribs were just right (easily came off the bone without being mushy). The seasoning rub they use is plenty flavorful that you don't need the BBQ sauce. You can use the sauce to add a bit of sweetness and spiciness to the meat if that's what you want. The sausage was also tasty all be it a bit salty, it needs the BBQ sauce to balance the flavor a bit. Supposedly if you go on a Sunday they do Argentinian asado, so I definitely have to go back on a Sunday
