Got off the Amtrak literally not even 20mins as of today 09/20
Note: this is located inside the Santa Fe depot station
Ordered a small latte, cheez it, from there. Latte was good!
Service was great and they have a pretty decent selection of chips and quick bites to eat!
Also delta 8 koi vape pens and delta 9 gummies (yes as in cannabis)
Now idk if they're for real or it's like the gas station version where sure u may be cloud 9 but the bubbly guts of 6am regrets kick in at 3pm while at a in n out
Overall 8/10
A surprisingly good selection of fun coffee options! And an incredibly charming cashier whose energy immediately woke me up after some overnight travels.
The Silver Streak Cafe is the various-sided kiosk where drinks and snacks are sold in the mostly barren Santa Fe Amtrak Station. This is where you can sit inside it outside by a dry fountain as you wait to leave town on a northward trajectory. There are Trolley stations to two sides of the station that will take you in other directions
The Silver Streak Cafe can't be missed. It's here with us among the waiting-room benches with mostly food but also postcards and other stuff.
There's a 7-Eleven a block out the front door.
I travel from San Diego to Los Angeles very often and frequently get coffee and deli (chicken salad on marble rye) sandwiches at Silver Streak Café. The prices are reasonable, the staff is very friendly, and they have every beverage hot or cold you can imagine. It is a modest place in a really cool historical building. There is a Starbucks closely, however I like this coffee shop much more because it isn't cooperate and has regular local people as customers, which usually is a plus!
I am a local San Diegan and live between Little Italy and Santa Fe Depot. The closest coffee shops near me are Starbucks and 7/11. I am so happy I found Silver Streak Café, because I am a huge supporter of small businesses. They have good breakfast sandwiches, vegan, sugar free, and gluten free options. Balti makes the perfect lattes, to order. The café is located inside the Santa Fe Depot train station so it has a historical ambiance. There is an outdoor seating area with flowers and a fountain, so it is a unique place to enjoy a coffee I've started to see lots of locals here recently:-)
