Husband and I came to Solvang last weekend for a little getaway, and were wanting to go to the Hitching Post, but they were by reservation only, so we came upon A J Spurs Saloon. We were not disappointed in the change of plans! They serve a delish beef stew, with a side of black beans, and salsa, and our dinners also came with a side salad, Husband ordered the Rib Eye steak, and I ordered the 1/2 slab of Beef Ribs, seriously we could have simply shared one meal the portions were huge! The meal came with potatoes and a rice pilaf also, and for dessert it came with your choice of 3 things, we chose rootbeer floats, we were stuffed! The seating of course was odd because of covid, but the service was good, I would definitely go again! ????”

“First, I’m not a fast food fan but The Habit is the best fast food up the central coast. The steak is thick and cooked properly. Still pink! I find the staff at this place to be exceptional and they deserve a shout out. Don’t forget they have a tip jar inside so you can give at the drive through. They deserve it! I order my food special with blackened onions. They’re not always cooked enough for me but when they are they are SO good it mades my toes curl. Thank you!”

“Pea Soup Andersen's is nostalgic for me. Every summer on the last day of school, my mom would pack the car and we would leave to spend a week in Solvang. We always had Andersen's the first night we were there. I continued the tradition with my own kids. From back then until now they have been the consistent wonderful soup I remember as a kid. The soup is vegetarian, full of flavor and filling. You can order all the fixin's with it, ham, bacon, cheese, green onion. They do have other offerings besides just soup, and when you arrive or leave they have a fun little gift area. Right now is outdoor dining due to Covid.”
