The Tap Room

Nice place to sit and hangout with friends on a weekend afternoon. We brought some cards, and had a few beers. Order the fried pickles, they are excellent. Will definitely be coming back.

Fun place for a good beer. They have a variety of selections. Not a big food spot but there are places around you could grab a bite. I love the benches, great for groups and meeting new people. There are some games, too!

I love The Tap Room! They mostly serve Palo Alto Brewing Company, but also have some guest brews on tap. There is bench seating, some standing room (with barrels as tables), and pinball machines. The staff is nice and unobtrusive. This is my go-to for casual chats over beer.

The place can get a little crowded and seating is limited. The music is also sometimes too loud, meaning your conversations turn into shouting matches. But those reasons are definitely not enough to prevent me from coming back again and again!

Place has its ups and downs. People working there very nice but service can be slow from the kitchen. Food which used to be great all the time, is now sometimes meh. Wings are still great. One visit, took about 85 minutes to get food. Place was crowded but, first time they brought out order it was not what we ordered (50 minutes in). We were told there were two orders with same number. They took back incorrect order and then it took another 35 minutes to get one sandwich and an order of fries. Was not exactly what we ordered but we took it. One of two people running the front claimed order was not forgotten, but many people who came after us got their food first. Apparently only one person to handle all the food orders on a weekend night. Place is totally understaffed for weekend nights. On a more recent visit, place was empty, food was prompt out and fresh. Beer selection great. Go for food only if place relatively empty. Otherwise, kitchen service will not be ideal.

Great beer and atmosphere. Buy your drinks at the counter and sit down. There's a limited food menu, so it may not be the best place for dinner. If you're meeting someone for drinks, it's a great place. I went on a weekday and the seats were filling up. If you have a large group, you may not all fit. If you want to grab a beer with your buddy, it's a cool place in Palo Alto.
