Old Capitol Grill & Smokehouse

I frequent this unique place once a month as I love the special atmosphere that is part of this restaurant. The crew is exceptionally welcoming and experienced. The service is deeply fast. Most important, the food they serve is highly distinguished. I came more than once and I was always satisfied. The payment is reasobable. I highly suggest this place to all my friends.

Great restaurant on the main drag in Golden. I had the smoked salmon salad. It was potentially the best salad I've ever eaten in my life. The salmon was smoked a perfection and the variety of vegetables is fantastic. The dressing tied at all together perfectly. Our lovely server, Lauren, was most excellent.

Good cocktails. Kind of slow service. Don't bother ordering the cornbread, it's tiny for the price. Pulled pork was good though.

Being from Texas we have a high bar for brisket and Old Capital Grill & Smokehouse did awesome at reaching that bar! My middle son and I shared the brisket for 2 and thought the brisket was perfect, juicy and full of flavor. The mac and cheese had a wonderful flavor to it. The green beams were a bit on the firm side but the brisket and mac made up for it. My son enjoyed the mini sliders and my husband liked the brisket street tacos.

Have to say this place was pretty amazing! We were served efficiently and our food didn't take too long to prepare. They don't have a huge variety, but everything we had was absolutely delicious! Fried pickles and the artichoke dip were delicious. Also recommend the bison burger. If you have a group larger then 4 or 5 I would definitely call in advance and reserve a table. They offer reservations, so take advantage of that. :) Not many restaurants have it anymore.
