Awesome place. And all the hummingbirds
The place to hangout and stay for climbing in the area. They provide an awesome breakfast. Their cabins have sweet fire places.
So we went here after seeing the Stanley Hotel (it had always been on my bucket list) and I can confidently say this place is much creepier from the outside than the Stanley Hotel, which has a million tourist everywhere you turn. But I’m sure the fact that it was late autumn and no one happened to be around certainly added to the creepiness factor. So if you’re a horror fan, I would stay here and save yourself some money, over the Stanley Hotel! Though inside it’s very cozy and inviting, and obviously their key collection is definitely something to see! And the employees were very nice and helpful, even pointing out the main keys for us!
Neat location, weird story, bad food!
It takes a good bit to get there... kinda hard to find. It may have been better to stay... quiet and dark. We just went for the keys and the lunch, which we'd heard were good but both were disappointing. The keys were neither pretty nor terribly interesting, once we heard the story. They hang from the ceiling with tags so the tags are really ALL you see. The food was a soup and salad bar. $18 each for 2 weird kinds of soup, very little to choose from on the salad bar and 2 truly disgusting flavors of muffins. We didn't even order drinks... just water. I guess you're paying for the atmosphere...??? The hummingbirds outside were fun to watch, but hardly worth the effort. I'd skip this one...
