Mad Creek Barbecue

LOVED our decision to go here for lunch. You can’t beat their lunch special prices in this tourist town. $10 for a bbq pork sandwich, one side (highly recommend the mac and cheese), and a soda. Seems like a cool place to watch a game as well. Variety of sauces to choose from.

Great authentic Texas bar-b-que! The very friendly owners are from Austin and know how to make great food.

The 3 meat plate with sides was enough food for my wife and daughter to share. The 2 meat plate and sides had enough to share as well. We tried the brisket, chicken, pork ribs, and jalapeno sausage.

The beer selection is wide-ranging with something for every taste.

We would definitely eat here again.

Food was good. Our group had an opportunity to try a variety. We had the pulled pork, ribs, and chopped brisket. Portions were also good. The corn bread was dry and needed something (honey?). It was a little odd ordering as the place was mostly empty. We were given a beeper and told to come back to order when the beeper went off which should have been in roughly 10 minutes. I believe this was done to allow them to catch up on orders. 20 minutes later we were called back up to order our food. The food then came surprisingly fast.

The barbeque here is AMAZING. We had pulled pork and the brisket. Both were SO tender. They have good Texas red and Carolina gold sauces. The mac-n-cheese was tasty too. Service was super friendly. And the atmosphere of the place is fun, clean, and comfortable. Highly recommend and we will be back.

This place is unbelievable! If you like real, authentic, pit BBQ along with a fantastic draft beer selection, then you will enjoy this place while visiting Steamboat! The BBQ is excellent and beyond that, the owners and staff are incredibly gracious and kind. The owner personally stayed open late for my family and I so we could finish watching the Baylor game. I highly recommend this place be a routine stop for all. Enjoy!
