    What a wonderful experience! The food was superb-from appetizer through to main course. The puffs and korma, cauliflower were Amazing! Service with a smile!! Top notch! We are definitely coming back!

    Tamarind is an exciting and welcomed addition to Main Street, Newtown! The food is beautifully plated, freshly prepared and very delicious. What I love about it is they serve their dishes spicy OR mild, a huge plus for the varying tastes of our family. The service and atmosphere are warm and welcoming..and the Naan is out of this world. We'll definitely be back!

    The food is definitely very good. I would say it's on par with Jewel of Himalaya in terms of quality.

    However, the take-out portions - especially lunch - are disappointing for price. At Kolam down the road, you get 2x the food (can feed 2 people) for the same price and their food is also good. At Jewel of Himalaya (also down the road), you get almost 2x the food for about the same price.

    Perhaps if they made their lunch entree portions larger rather than in a small container, I would rate 5 stars as Tamarind's food really is good quality. I don't mind paying for quality food, but only when the portions actually fill you up.

    4 other people here complaining about portion sizes - perhaps time to take a message.

    Fantastic food. Everything we had was wonderful. Samosas, and a fried cauliflower appetizer. Chicken Tikka was so good. We also had a black lentils dish that was delicious. The best garlic naan helped finish it. Highly recommend this restaurant and will be back.
