The beef short ribs melt in your mouth. The fried chicken nice and hot, crispy and golden brown. The cornbread is buttery and like cake and I love me some cake. The food is great. Nice ambiance too. Great music. The owner, Amoy, and the staff are friendly and coutreous. Some of the best people I've met in a long time. I am always excited to go there.

Service? Meh. Food? Meh. Although small place, can't seem to handle a full crowd. Slow as molasses! Jazz night 1/12? Very good.

My wife and I first tried Amoy's at the Noodles on 9 Event, and just from their friendly faces and the tiny sample of delicious cornbread, we knew that we had to try it sometime. Tonight, we ordered take out, and everything - literally everything - was absolutely AMAZING. The Chicken Andouille Gumbo was hearty and wonderful. The Shrimp and Chicken Jambalaya was a perfect balance of meat, vegetables, and rice - perfectly cooked with just the right amount of heat. The Cajun Cheeseburger with Bacon Jam was so unbelievably juicy and flavorful - and even the fries had wonderful seasoning as well. The New Orleans Style Fried Chicken was perfectly crispy and moist - the dry rub that they use is a beautifully unique mix of salty and savory spices. And of course, we cannot forget about the cornbread - soft, buttery, and just utterly perfect. My favorite thing of all though, was their unwavering sense of hospitality. Even though I had placed a take out order, I still received the warmest welcome from the staff when I picked up my food. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile, and felt as if I was a houseguest. I received my food directly from the chef, who took the time to meet me and introduce himself to me. Being a person that lives to create experiences for others, I can say that Amoy's has certainly earned another huge fan. My wife and I will certainly be back for more delicious food and warm hospitality soon.

What a find this was! I don't know why people don't talk about this place more, but perhaps also glad as it's small and I would never get in again. BYO was fantastic. All meals were superb and generously portioned. Corn bread was so good we ordered more. Staff so kind and friendly. Will definitely be back.
