The food and ambiance is great! It was chic and cozy and the food was so yummy. We ordered the Doro Wot, Tuna Kitfo, and veggie combo. We also loved the live music on Thursday night. It’s my new favorite restaurant in DC! All the staff were really friendly and helpful. Check it out!

I went there for my friend’s birthday, and let me tell you, you've never seen an Ethiopian restaurant like this in DC. I had ordered their food through Uber Eats before and loved both the taste and presentation. You know what they say, “you eat with your eyes before you eat with your mouth.” Yesterday was my first time dining in, also, one of my friends had never tried Ethiopian food before, so I knew this place would be perfect for her first experience. She loved everything! the food, vibe, and customer service were amazing! They took great care of us and made sure everything was perfect. The prices are fair, and the cocktails are top-tier. You can even buy some of the paintings they have. It’s a 10/10 for me, and I’m definitely coming back. As an Ethiopian, I can confirm that DC now has the best Ethiopian cuisine I’ve ever had!

Loved my Ethiopian food experience at Eatopia Eatery on U Street! The decor is chic and inviting, with fantastic jazz music that creates a perfect ambiance. I tried the veggie combo - flavors and textures were incredible, and the portion was great for sharing. The doro wot was divine too - perfectly cooked chicken and a rich, flavorful sauce. After a productive summit at the State Department, we hosted a reception dinner at Eatopia Eatery to enjoy some authentic Ethiopian cuisine. The experience was outstanding! The food was flavorful and truly representative of Ethiopian culinary traditions. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a perfect setting for our group. The staff was incredibly accommodating and ensured that everyone had a great time. All my colleagues and friends were delighted with the evening and are eager to return. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy delicious Ethiopian food in DC!

The food is comforting, with rich and interesting flavors. The Ethiopian cuisine is spicy but leans more towards warming than hot. The servers are very accommodating and were very patient to explain the food to me. The atmosphere is chill and calming. Highly recommended if you want to try Ethiopian food, or if you are also on the way to the metro station after mailing your postcards on your last day in D.C.
