“I have to start saying that at the beginning we had a little hard time because we made a reservation for the main dinning room and our table was actually in a private separate area. However, after a few minutes, they were able to move us and everything else was great! Food, service, music, and the whole atmosphere! Really enjoyed and recommend.”

“We went on Wednesday and had one of the best meals I've ever had. Both my husband and I had the hanger steak and my mother in law had the hanger steak salad. Everything was amazing! The red wine aioli was to die for! We also got the lemon sorbet which tasted just as amazing as it was presented! Our server was also very helpful with recommendations and very attentive. Will definitely be back!”

“I stopped by this afternoon to get a few cannoli. Yesterday I had looked on their website and only saw their cannoli as part of their menu and not their take away counter. I asked the hostess is it was possible to get some cannoli to go ans she said yes! She rang me up at the hostess station and then asked me if I wanted to wait at the bar. They took a bit longer than I thought but since they fill the shells to order they stay crisp longer. I really enjoyed the cannolo I ate and was happy they dipped one side in postal and one side in chocolate so I did t have to choose lol.”

“What an incredible company. I’ve tried 4 different meal prep/delivery services around DC and this is by far the best. They have such a unique variety of healthy, yummy meals. I haven’t been disappointed once. Not to mention - their customer service team is AMAZING. I am consistently blown away with their customer service. You cannot go wrong with Veg & Butch!!”

“The pizza here is of a unique style, and shape. The crust is very nice, good combination of crunchy and chewy. It's not thin, but not too fat. The toppings are more gourmet, less cheesy and saucy. Service was very good, Even though the place was pretty full. There is some outside seating, which on a nice day or evening is great. We had a very nice time.”

“I have to do right by this place, as it was one of the first pupuserias in DC proper! My name's Kim Arias and my parents were the ones who first opened Moses Carry-Out. My dad is Moses Arias and mom is Imelda Arias and they are immigrants from El Salvador. Together, they decided to open a predominantly Salvadorian, "hole in the wall" carry-out in Logan Circle, back in 1988. As you can imagine, Logan Circle, in the 80's and 90's, was very different from what it is today. Today, Moses' Carry-Out is Aveda Logan 14. After owning the restaurant for 8.5 years (1988-1996), my parents sold the business to someone named Victor (my dad says he was Peruvian). Victor kept it for about 2 years (1996-1999) and then the business was sold to Luis Hernandez, who is also Salvadorian, and he ran the business from 1999 to 2005/6. My dad believes the business was closed permanently around 2005/6. Similar to Juan (from the reviews), I'm attached to this place. I grew up inside this carry-out from ages 1-9. After school, I'd hang out in this business, do some homework, watch B+W shows on a portable TV, and greet customers. I recognized our regulars, most of which lived or worked in Logan Circle. I'm eternally grateful to the folks that chose to support this small business. By doing so, they also supported the immigrant community. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For historical and nostalgic sake, I'm posting the original menu here. First and foremost, Salvadorian food was the main cuisine. SALVADORIAN: 1. Pupusas: Cheese, Revueltas (pork and cheese), Chicharon (pork only) 2. Pescado Frito: Black sea bass, Tilapia (This is fried, whole fish. I remember going to the Maine Avenue Fish Market with my parents to buy the fish.) 3. Yuca con Chicharron (yuca with pork) 4. Bistec Encebollado "a lo estilo Savadoreño" (steak in a tomato sauce) 5. Carne Asada 6. Pollo Asado 7. Pollo Guisado (chicken in a stew) 8. Costilla de Cerdo (spare ribs) 9. Tamales de Pollo, Salvadorian style 10. Tamales de Elote, Salvadorian style 11. Sopa de Res, Salvadorian style (beef soup) 12. Sopa de Mondongo, Salvadorian style (tripe stew) 13. Salvarodian breakfast A) "Plato Tipico": refried beans, queso fresco, eggs, chorizo, tortillas, fried plantains B) Chorizo con Huevos, served with tortillas and refried beans 14. Desserts: Quesadilla Salvadoreño, Arroz con Leche, Budin, Salvadorian style 15. Drinks: Horchata, Tamarindo, Marañon 16. "Salvadorian" Fruit Smoothies: Coconut, Mango, Mamey (Sapote), Banana, Pineapple (My parents say these were super popular.) AMERICAN: 1. Breakfast all day: Breakfast burritos, Breakfast sandwiches (diff styles), Pancakes, French Toast 2. Lunch + Dinner: Steak and Cheese, Fish Sandwiches, Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers, Deli sandwiches (various kinds), Tuna Sandwiches, Fries (FYI: Mom told me to note that the turkey sandwiches were made with real turkey, not deli meat.) 3. A bit of Tex-Mex: Tacos, Burritos ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This list is from Moses and Imelda Arias as this menu is from the 1988-1996 era. If anyone who lived/worked in Logan Circle in the late 80s to late 90s reads this and remembers this small shop, my parents would like to say "thank you" for your patronage! They remember many customers by name, and still tell stories about the restaurant.”

“Anyone that knows me knows I am a HUGE stickler for fat needing to be rendered on duck, pork belly, steak, etc. This place exceeded expectations-the pork belly melted in my mouth. Salsa was delicious, they gave it a twist by adding eggplant and it was a knockout. Corn tamals had deep, rich flavor and mole was well balanced. Service was warm and prompt; the decor was trendy but not pretentious. My SO and I have decided this is our new favorite! :)”

“This was our first time ordering from here but definitely not the last! We ordered snow crab legs, shrimp, mussels, crawfish, and more! All in the world special sauce, which was full of flavor and tasted amazing with everything. The pickup was quick and easy, the parking is very accessible as well. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. They even threw in some free desserts which was a nice surprise and delicious!”

“The food is great. My roommate and I both love the mac and lasagna respectfully. The yams are good, could be a bit sweeter but they’re great as is. Greens had a bit of spice to them in my roommates opinion and we both enjoyed them.”

“I've been ordering from Phresh Gourmet for 2.5 years now since I moved to the DMV, which in and of itself says a lot - I have been pleased with the meals and service this whole time! The meals are fresh and well-portioned, and every week there are a good variety of options to choose from. Also, the meals only need to be heated up (they are not frozen nor require additional prep), which is very convenient. Service is top notch also - from deliveries to answering any questions I may have. I highly recommend Phresh Gourmet!”

“It was nice to have an entirely vegan sushi experience. I liked everything. It had an awesome presentation. The brown-faux fish was kind of weird, but big picture, it was good. Would love a big box that I could customize and vegan tempura.”
