Plaza Mexico Restaurant Bar & Grill

Two thumbs up again Plaza Mexico! We were very happy with our food and the awsome mariachi band that played Thursday night in your Port Charlotte location. Definitely our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area, and one of the best I have had period. Great food, atmosphere and service.

Great place for giant margarita cocktails and Mexican food! It was delicious and our server was attentive. Enjoyed the spicy salsa and chips that were offered freely. I also had the guacamole made freshly for me from the guac cart. I had the crab enchiladas and my husband had the Three Amigos entrees, both were tasty and filling with their sides of beans and rice.

I was in town for business and decided to check this place out since it was near where we were staying. The food here is very authentic and savory. Everything is reasonably priced and the service was excellent! Our server was very attentive. His knowledge of the menu was thorough and made excellent recommendations. If you're in the area and are in the mood for some Mexican food, come check this place out!

Dropped in for lunch today. Food was plentiful and tasty. We were disappointed that the gratis corn chips were served at room temperature. Salsa great. Upon request, the server untimately brought us chips heated in the oven. She explained that the microwave was down. Nice try but half of those chips were burned beyond usefulness. Unlike at Los Mariachis (a nearby competitor we truly enjoy) no management staff bothered to check on us during our meal. Overall disappointing.

Being new to the area we decided to give Plaza Mexico a try based on them always appearing busy, what a great decision.

We ordered the guacamole which is made tableside, I don't eat it but the rest of the table loved it even ordering a second serving to take home. The chips and salsa was very good, took the rest of the salsa home too. The main dinners arrived in a normal amount of time, hot and delicious. We also had a double glass serving of red sangria (huge), also very good. The prices are a little higher than expected but the food and service was so good it didn't matter, definitely going back again.
