“Rooftops are a hard sell for Miamians. We love the view, we hate the elements. Actual rooftop weather is fleeting—about five minutes in January, if we’re being honest—unless you happen upon one of those few and far between places that offer a year-round option, one that’s covered and preferably air-conditioned. Enter La Terrazza, Fiola’s upstairs lounge, bar and restaurant that serves an Italian menu in a relaxed, al fresco setting. Head there on Sunday afternoon for a delightful jazz brunch—think a lively band playing to a packed (and air-conditioned!) rooftop, spritzes flowing and a Bloody Mary Cart doling out freshly made brunch cocktails on demand. Follow our lead and make yours a surf-and-turf with a skewer of bacon and shrimp. Unlike most brunches these days, this one is á la carte, allowing guests to choose from a selection of raw bar items, breakfast dishes and various types of pasta. You’ll want to ease into the experience with a refreshing Venetian Spritz and something from the raw bar menu: think a half-dozen Oysters with shallot and escabeche mignonette; Cobia Ceviche with leche de tigre, crispy chickpeas and red onions; and Hamachi Crudo with mandarin segments, red endives, shaved celery and cerignola olives. Silence the voice in your head telling you not to fill up on bread and dive into the warm, toasted Sullivan Bakery Loaf as soon as it hits the table. You won’t regret a single calorie, especially if you’re lucky enough to get yours with a side of caviar as we were. Look around you’ll see the Double-cut Bacon swinging on several tables and want to order your own clothesline of pork to share. Just do it. Brunch entrees run the gamut from light, like the Swordfish Milanese with fried egg on top to you’ll-need-a-post-meal-nap, including Fettuccine Carbonara, Lasagna and Eggplant Parmesan. The Panettone French Toast was an unexpected dish that could work both as an entree or a shareable dessert. It’s served with an orange blossom marmalade, pistachio zabaglione and Vermont maple syrup. Though if that doesn’t satisfy your sweet tooth, Fiola’s Grand Chocolate Cake will do it. The massive, $36 (!) slice features layers of Piemontese Gianduja ganache and hazelnut streusel and is served with a scoop of fior di latte gelato. Perhaps the most impressive thing about brunch is the massive outdoor kitchen built exclusively for La Terrazza. Servers aren’t running plates between Fiola and the rooftop so everything you’re getting upstairs is fresh, warm and meant to be enjoyed outdoors without any of the inconveniences of actually eating outside.”

“A lively, hot spot in the middle of Ocean Drive. Came for the first time during the Super Bowl weekend, visiting Miami for the first time from London. Entered the early evening for drinks, but as the night went on, the more drinks we had, the music got better and the more fun we had. It was a very good spot to enjoy Ocean Drive. It got more busier as the night went on. Good choice of drinks, spacious environment, with pool and dance floor area. The service of the bar staff team was a bit slow and a tad disorganised, but courteous. Definitely worth a visit.”

“Great music, drinks and atmosphere. Nice place to hang out and dance. Only issue it was just way too hot in there, they need better AC.”

“We visited Miami to see some baseball games, and happened upon Angel who gave us the tour of a lifetime! The best part about visiting different parts of the country is coming to understand how the people live there, and Angel brought us to all the places that would do just that. His knowledge of the different aspects of what makes the heart of Little Havana beat so strong is what truly made our visit South the best experience ever. He knows little Havana in a way that only one whose heart is right there could. He is a true local, full of truly interesting facts, and is willing to share his relationships with all his friends there who make Little Havana's heart beat right along with his own. The tastes of the local treats there, like pastries, coffee, an authentic Cuban sandwich, and on and on. The best, simply the best way to understand the culture. And learning about the real picture of what happened during the Bay of Pigs event makes an American really think about things more deeply. It was just the luckiest thing that we hooked up with Angel. It's a day our family will reflect on forever! Sending our love from DC, Angel!! You get our five million Star Rating.”

“Our waiter Michael laid out all the options and did not miss on any suggestions. Great home style atmosphere with food to match. The live music was an added touch that simply elevated what was already a great experience! Can’t wait to come back to try other dishes and hopefully leave room for dessert”

“My colleagues and I frequented this establishment during our stay for the weekend during the American black film festival and the staff was amazing. The cigars were superb. The food was delicious. It is very rare for us a cigar bar to nail all of these facets of the business. I will definitely be back!”

“Giselle was an amazing experience. We were running 40 minutes late and the front hostesses still accompanied our reservation. Lily was our main server and did an excellent job explaining the menu. She checked on us multiple times and gave us space to order as we needed. Steven the manager stopped by and made sure we were good. Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend for a date night, birthday, or a regular night out with a great rooftop view.”

“My favorite place in Miami. Super dark atmosphere with amazing music. Friendly crowd that is non judgmental and you can be yourself there. They're open super late so that's a plus and the environment is really comfortable.”

“I had a great time there at a networking event. We had an interesting tropical Brazilian drink - I don't recall the name - and some tasty appetizers. The most unique appetizer was a Cuban croquette made from duck pate. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, the bar well stocked and tended. They also have hookahs available, though the business people in attendance didn't partake. All in all, we had a very good time. When the event was over, they started setting up for a Brazilian band and clearing part of the dining area for the late night dance party. I'd love to come back and experience that!”

“Great vibrant spot. Easy access from the palmetto, plenty of parking and plenty of tables available to play at. Male sure to challenge Gabriela in a game of Billiards!! Such a great attentive person. I can appreciate the quality customer service w/ a smile”

“I went a minute right after they opened, 4:01 pm more or less (Happy Hour) and they were still setting things up which is OK. Drinks are good and food (Indian vegetarian) is good. The woman behind the bar was great. Very talkative. I'll return.”

“A good place to grab dominican food. The Chivo (goat meat) was good. The rice a bit cold. The only reason they don't get a 5 star is because of the service. When I went in there there were a few people already dining in and I was the only one to get an order from. The lady said she will be right with me but took 35 minutes to take my order when most people I saw eating when I came in left.”

“Pretty basic, not the best and not the worst. Limited selection of beers on tap. The kitchen was closed which seemed odd to me for a Friday night at 11pm with a packed bar and live music.”

“Place is great in ambience. There is extra parking on the right across the street. It is really small and tables are almost always taken. Reservations recomended. Over all great great place, nice bartenders and fair prices for the area”

“Cozy, casual but swanky bar/lounge. Good service, food served quick and hot, drinks well balanced. The bang bang shrimp tacos were delish. The spicy chicken tacos are good too. We went on a Tuesday (tacos half off) and karaoke singers were 😩😂🙏🏽. Great locals bar, go for a good time.”

“The best hookah place I have ever been to! They use authentic Russian hookahs with great flavor blends. Ask for Omar, he took great care of us and the service overall was excellent. The ambience along with beautiful Miami weather made it a memorable night! The service, ambience, hookah, food and music deserve 5 stars! Its a must have for me now whenever I visit Miami and I highly recommend it.”

“Fun small turn up place. The service is extremely slow so be prepared to order multiple drinks at once so you're not stuck waiting back to back for one beer or mixed drink. They do provide bottle service at a tourist price so don't come here expecting cheap drinks. Music good.”

“Amazing experience! The service from the door to the waiter was very inviting. Reservations are a must, because the restaurant is very busy but it's well worth the wait. Besides the host(didn't get her name), who was very helpful by the way the waiter impressed my family and I with the knowledge of the menu. Yes he gave a long overview of what was available but there was nothing he didn't know.👌🏾 As for the food, the prices are a bit high but they are well worth the value. Everything is prepared and seasoned with an African/Caribbean inspiration, and my family and I truly enjoyed it. The only downfall is this place is located in the heart of Overtown, which is a far distance from my residence. But however far you live it is definitely worth the trip at least once! As for me I will definitely be back soon 😉”

“We loved the Cool Vibe of this Restaurant. We felt like Celebrities eating here 🥰 The service is Excellent, the food is delicious and the Restaurant is Beautiful with 3 different decoration styles, 2 inside and 1 nice outdoor seating. We sat outside to enjoy the view of Miami River. It was nice to see a luxury yacht parking on the side to come for lunch here. Menu prices are high but definitely worth it because we really enjoyed it!!!”

“Absolutely wonderful. The food was just incredible and the service was pretty good too. The place is nice but, really, I don't care about the decoration, the food is the reason to keep coming back. Want to eat something extraordinary? Try the truffle ravioli. Completely divine. Also ordered lobster ravioli which were great but nothing compared to the truffle ones.”

“If your in miami this is the go to spot, because I was there on Sunday and the music was really good, gave me different cultural vibes. The dancers could be more attractive but the waitresses and bartenders looked really good. Especially the tall one with the curly hair. She was very sweet and gave me good customer service. Even though I gave her a hard time, she still kept a smile during the whole situation . I will definitely be returning!!”

“FANTASTIC dinner at The Globe the other night. Tremendous overall atmosphere with the natural Saturday night vibes combined with the music and upbeat energy. Delicious meal and prompt service, even with the near-capacity crowd -- great attention to detail from the staff. We’ll be sure to return to in the near future thanks to great food and a stellar experience!!”
