Mangrove Mama's

Had a great supper at Mangrove Mama’s! Started with conch fritters, they were hot and crispy and the key lime honey mustard was a great accompaniment. Also had the conch chowder, it was good, with a lot of potato and carrots in a red broth, but didn’t get much conch. For our entrees we had a Cuban Reuben and Mahi Tacos. The Reuben had a lot of meat with great flavor and the pickles, and sauerkraut were great finishing touches. Our server Rachel offered to make the blackened seasoning on the Mahi tacos light, so it wasn’t too spicy…they were perfect! So delicious, and the pickled onion, shredded cabbage and chipotle mayo put them over the top! We both had French fries, they were a thick cut and were very crispy and well seasoned! Rachel was a great server and was very attentive, when we arrived the hostess was very friendly and personable, and offered us outdoor or indoor seating. It was lightly raining so we chose to stay inside. We were too full for dessert, but we hope to go back and try their key lime pie!

Great local feel to this place before you get into the touristy area of Key West. We enjoyed drinks, appetizer (Conch fritters) and dinner. My daughter got the catch of the day (blackened snapper) and it was delicious.I got their conch chowder and a salad. The chowder was red (I’m used to white chowder) and a bit spicy…just right.
Not many people dining when we arrived, but that was fine by us!

New owners, new team and new menu. All I can say is wow. I had the blackened mahi tacos and let me tell you, they were the best I’ve had in quite some time. We had a table of 7 and every item was different. Every item was absolutely amazing! Service was stellar!! Great KIDS MENU! Best menu prices within a 40 mile radius too. Across the street from the Newly renovated KOA resort. If you don’t stop in for lunch or dinner. You’re truly missing out!

I've been coming down here for 25 years and let me say this place has never disappointed. We had the smoked fish dip and the fritters. Both amazing!! We also had the Key lime pie slice. This was one of BEST I've ever had. It was outstanding!! The staff was also very quick and polite! I would always recommend coming here for lunch or dinner. Always great staff and amazing food!!
