“I want to give a shout out to the attendant chick with the Mohawk. Sometimes it’s the smallest act of kindness that can turn a bum day around. Long day of training at a new office job, in between paychecks, low on cash, my check engine light comes on and all I want is a pack of smokes. I get to the counter, my sad little coupon in hand but I’m $0.54 short. As the male cashier starts to ring me up, she shouts “wait!” And tosses him a pack with another $0.50 discount. I leave happy with what I came for. This simple act of consideration put me at ease and reminded me that things are about to get better. Maybe it’s silly but it turned my night around. This store is close to being zero waste and if you ever actually talk to the owner or employees you'll see that they truly care about the store and the community/Earth.
