“Overall: A great place for a bite to eat when docking off/in or taking a break from hitting the water. The good: Easy walk in and sit down atmosphere that includes outdoor seating and great music. They have a great menu with tasty-sounding apps, salads, and sandwiches to choose from. The Cobb salad was well portioned and fresh, and the lobster grilled cheese was stuffed with surprisingly great chunks of lobster. The sandwiches other people got also looked amazing. Lastly, the service was fast and friendly. The not-so-good: We ordered a grilled cheese and it came out incorrectly, but they comp'd us with another free one with the right order. Cokes came out in cans so no free refills (I believe). Atmosphere: 9/10 Service: 9/10 Food: 9/10”

“There are plenty of places that serve up BBQ because down here in the South, "BBQ is king". That being said...many of those BBQ places are NOT worth going to. Fortunately for me, this is not one of those places. In my opinion, Sisson's Old South Bar-Be-Que has some of the best BBQ for miles and I can assure you that you will not leave this place hungry. My party of 4 ordered the brisket sandwich, Brunswick Stew, BBQ chicken sandwich, and a cheeseburger. This place made their own BBQ sauces, had very tasty sides, and had very friendly/attentive staff. I even threw them a "curve-ball" by changing my order AFTER it was taken into the kitchen. They were respectful of me and the kitchen...but still was able to still accommodate me. They especially got "points" for checking with the kitchen FIRST before blindly accepting my change. The restaurant was clean and had plenty of seating. The brisket was cook perfectly (a little spicy), the chicken freshly cooked and prepared. The burger was VERY tasty, cooked perfectly, and made fresh to order. Also worth noting that I had no trouble finishing my coleslaw. Unfortunately, I was not able to try their Coconut Cream Pie. Everyone walked out of there with to-go containers and full stomachs. I will definitely be back again. Only next time, I'll save room to the Coconut Cream Pie. Thanks, Old South BBQ. You are a great find. The only downside is that if you weren't paying attention, you could easily drive past it, so take your GPS.”

“Very friendly staff night shift especially. During the day it's always busy durning the morning and lunch hours because this location serves food. I always get cheese grits and eggs. They will cook to order your eggs. The lunch is fried chicken and vegetables for your sides. They just added a salad bar. You can also get bait and fishing supplies as well.”

“The food and service were both excellent. One thing to note is that salad comes with the meal, which is brought out in a bowl for the table to share. It had pumpernickel croutons in it that were very tasty. I had the blackened grouper and it was cooked just right. It also has outdoor eating, but this was closed due to a storm coming through. Very good.”

“It is not always easy to find great food at a reasonable price around here. Our family really enjoyed Iron Fork. The staff was great. Our server Abby was excellent. The fried green tomatoes were hot and fresh. Entrees were appropriate portions and very well done. We even got dessert to go. Definitely worth a stop if you are down this way.”

“As far as BBQ goes, this place is top notch! The food was amazing and the view from the porch was really nice. The atmosphere was fitting of trendy lakeside dining you'd hope to find in the area while still maintaining it's rural BBQ vibe. While I was there, there was live music which was pretty good, even if it was a little overwhelming. Although there are some more expensive items on the menu, there were also some well-priced items. As far as the actual food went, everything my friend and I had was delicious. Brunswick Stew is one of those foods that can vary greatly from place to place and is hit or miss, but the stew from Georgia Butts was incredible. The Mac & Cheese was also really good and creamy. The pulled pork was mouthwatering and didn't have any large hard chunks in it, which I was super grateful for. Overall, this is a place that's worth the trip.”
